The IASP makes a distinction to PTA as international benchmark in the innovative solutions development
The Malaga technopolis received the recognition during the celebration of the thirty-first International Conference Parks in Doha
The International Association of Science Parks (IASP) has distinguished the Technology Park of Andalusia (PTA) at the “Inspiring Solution” awards which recognize the six best practices of sciences parks in an international level according to the ideas and solutions development or innovative projects in the management performance or efficiency of these spaces.
The IASP has presented these recognitions during the celebration of the thirty-first International Conference Parks that has brought together over 320 representatives of science and technology parks worldwide in Doha to discuss their role as catalysts of technological development.
Specifically, the IASP has distinguished the PTA for the implementation of the Joint International Strategy Group (GEIC) which brings together various organizations and institutions from Malaga to develop an global view of the province's presence in the world and make the most of the synergies to share strategies and promote commercial, educational, cultural and social activities.
The PTA has been honored together with five other science and technology parks in Sweden, Germany, South Africa, China and Brazil.
The IASP is the International Association of Science Parks and Innovation Areas (www.iasp.ws). Currently have 405 members from 70 countries parks. It is a non-profit organization that was established in 1984 to promote the improvement of the competitiveness of companies located in parks and contribute to economic development by encouraging technological progress, innovation, innovation spirit and knowledge transfer.
The IASP is one of the founding members of the Global Alliance for Innovation (WAINOVA) and has a Special Consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of United Nations.
International Joint Strategy Group
The Joint International Strategy Group (IGEC) aims to provide a global vision of Malaga in the world and make the most of the synergies to share strategies and promote the commercial, educational, cultural and social activities.
Group members are Chamber of Commerce of Málaga, City council of Malaga, Entrepreneur Confederation of Málaga, European Business and Innovation Centre of Málaga, Foundation CIEDES (Belong to City Council), ICEX Spain delegation export and investments (Andalusian delegation), Municipal Company of the city council of Malaga, Planning and Development Society from the provincial council of Malaga, Regional Government, Technology Park of Andalucía and the University of Málaga.
