The President of the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA), José Luis Ruiz Espejo, the rector of the University of Malaga, Jose Angel Narvaez, and the administrator of the Center for Innovative Companies (Desmor) in Rio Maior, Portugal, João António Lopes Candoso, have signed today an agreement to promote the installation of business projects at PTA, UMA and the Business Center of Rio Maior, promoting their internationalization.

The signing of this agreement, which has taken place at Transfiere Forum held these days in Málaga, reinforces the agreement already signed one year ago between the PTA and the Portuguese entity with the addition of UMA, that will allow them to expand their capabilities to university entrepreneurs and research groups.

About this agreement, José Luis Ruiz Espejo pointed out that both the PTA and the University are working together to promote the international projection of companies, students and researchers in order to be more competitive in a global market.

“Since the signing of the agreement with the Innovative Enterprises Rio Maior last year, there have been numerous joint initiatives to encourage and promote scientific research and technological development in our business activities center. The incorporation of Málaga University to this collaboration will benefit this relationship with the Portuguese company and its businesses” said Ruiz Espejo.

Through this agreement both Portuguese and Spanish companies can collaborate not only in the exchange of knowledge, but also in the development of joint projects and share best practices.

The agreement also includes a Soft-landing service, that will allow companies and research groups to stay in any of these three areas advantageously and with the support of these institutions.

In the context of the agreement, the PTA and the Business Centre of Rio Maior have promoted over the last year the implementation of several joint activities, including the participation of representatives of both agencies and companies in various business meetings and fairs.

The agreement, together with the IES Campanillas, has also enabled promote the exchange of VET students so they can make their internships at PTA and Rio Maior.
