Keysight inaugurates wireless communication teaching laboratory in University of Malaga

Keysight has strengthened its collaboration with University of Malaga (UMA) the inauguration of the first Spain-based Keysight-branded educational lab on September 27, 2019. This collaboration showcases Keysight’s commitment as technology leaders to accelerate innovation by equipping the next generation of engineers with industry-leading test and measurement hardware and software.

Equipment deployed and supported by Keysight for this laboratory in Telecommunication Engineering School (ETSIT) of UMA include the T2010A LTE test set, N7631C Signal Studio software for 5G NR signal creation and playback and N5172BU Upgrades for the EXG Vector Signal Generator with 50 pack waveforms for the latest wireless communication learning. This enables the laboratory to conduct advanced engineering education for wireless communication.

“Telecommunication Engineering School (ETSIT), has contributed actively to generate and transfer scientific knowledge and technological capabilities to UMA’s surrounding area in Andalusia and all over the world,” said the ETSIT executives of UMA. “Students from ETSIT play important roles in relevant international companies. ETSIT follows an education model to promote collaborative, competitive and quality teaching which is employment-oriented as the European Seal of International Quality in Engineering EUR-ACE denotes. This seal constitutes an international recognition that facilitates both academic and professional mobility. UMA’s vigor and growth throughout the years have led our school to become a reference point for telecommunications in Spain.”

“Keysight's company integration in our business environment is made evident by its engagement with Spain’s socio-economic fabric and the excellent collaboration with the University of Malaga and the Technology Park of Andalusia.” said Felipe Romera, General Director of the Technology Park of Andalusia (PTA). PTA, located in Malaga, is a science complex for setup of manufacturing and R&D, where Keysight’s Malaga site is located.
