{"id":11114,"date":"2022-04-25T08:48:17","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T08:48:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/?p=11114"},"modified":"2022-04-25T08:48:17","modified_gmt":"2022-04-25T08:48:17","slug":"apte-closes-the-4th-edition-of-its-st-for-women-project-in-which-malaga-techpark-participates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/en\/noticias\/apte-closes-the-4th-edition-of-its-st-for-women-project-in-which-malaga-techpark-participates\/","title":{"rendered":"APTE closes the 4th edition of its S&#038;T for Women project, in which Malaga TechPark participates"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<h6><strong>The last day will take place on 21 April at the Madrid-Puerta de Toledo Campus of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid-Leganes Tecnologico and the Madrid Science Park.<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/en\/https\/wwwptaes\/en\/noticias\/malaga-techpark-joins-the-apte-initiative-to-promote-technological-vocations-in-female-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Science and Technology for Women initiative<\/a>, whose main objective is to promote scientific and technological vocations among young women and in which Malaga TechPark actively participates, will end its 4th edition with an on-site event at the Campus Madrid\u2013Puerta de Toledo of the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid in collaboration with the Parque Cient\u00edfico Universidad Carlos III de Madrid &#8211; Leganes Tecnologico and the Madrid Science Park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main results of this edition will be presented, a round table with STEAM women will be held and the winning group of the sustainable development challenge competition will be announced.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the beginning of the programme on 26 October until March, the 19 science and technology parks participating in this 4th edition of the project promoted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apte.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Asociacion de Parques Cientificos y Tecnologicos de Espa\u00f1a (APTE)<\/a> have held a total of 52 days to make science, technology, engineering and mathematics studies visible and promote them, in which more than 8,000 secondary school students from 88 schools throughout Spain have taken part.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>Finalists in the challenge competition<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project has encouraged all students to participate in the competition &#8220;Innovative proposals to the challenges for sustainable development&#8221; (in Spanish \u201cPropuestas innovadoras a los retos para el desarrollo sostenible\u201d) by submitting proposals for actions that science and technology parks can take to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the evaluation of the finalist proposals presented in each of the participating science and technology parks, three proposals have reached the final on this 21 April: Oceans free of microplastics, Waterumb from IES Violant de Casalduch together with Espaitec, Parc Cient\u00edfic Tecnologic i Empresarial de la Universitat Jaume I de Castello; Obtaining filaments for 3D printing from PET bottles and containers from Santo Angel de Ourense School together with Parque Tecnoloxico de Galicia &#8211; Tecnopole, and STEAMBIKE from IES Gabriel Garcia Marquez de Leganes together with Parque Cient\u00edfico Universidad Carlos III de Madrid &#8211; Leganes Tecnologico.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>Roundtable<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to discovering the winning group of the competition, the closing ceremony of this edition of Science and Technology for Women will include the roundtable: &#8216;Three generations of STEAM women in the environment of Spanish science and technology parks&#8217; (in Spanish \u2018Tres generaciones de mujeres STEAM en el entorno de los parques cientificos y tecnologicos espa\u00f1oles\u2019), which will feature women who work in the scientific and technological environment of the Parque Cient\u00edfico Universidad Carlos III de Madrid &#8211; Legan\u00e9s Tecnol\u00f3gico and the Madrid Science Park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event can be followed by streaming on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/APTEchannel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">APTE&#8217;s Youtube channel.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>Science and Technology for Women\u00a0<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Science and Technology for Women is an initiative of the Asociaci\u00f3n de Parques Cientificos y Tecnologicos de Espa\u00f1a (APTE) that aims to promote scientific and technological vocations in order to reduce the gender gap in STEAM studies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last day will take place on 21 April at the Madrid-Puerta de Toledo Campus of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid-Leganes Tecnologico and the Madrid Science Park.
