With this objective, <\/span><b>Dedalus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a leading company in digital health solutions and clinical diagnostics in Europe, is promoting the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dedalushackathon.com\/datathon-andalucia\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">first Datathon in Digital Health in Andalusia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> together with <\/span><b>the School of Computer Engineering of the University of M\u00e1laga (UMA) and the University of Seville (US).\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the success of its first edition in Catalonia, the <\/span><b>Dedalus Datathon Andalusia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will start next February 8 until February 20, the day of defence of the projects. It is an open competition aimed at undergraduate students specialising in computer <\/span><b>engineering, bioinformatics, health engineering, mathematics and telecommunications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, among others, from the <\/span><b>universities of M\u00e1laga and Seville.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Dedalus Digital Health Datathon aims to <\/span><b>attract creativity, talent and motivation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through the <\/span><b>search for digital solutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to a <\/span><b>challenge linked to continuity of care and health and social coordination with a focus on chronic multi-pathological patients<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a clear priority for the health system at a regional and national level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participating teams will work on the development of ideas and digital solutions, using the infrastructure and development environments provided by the Datathon organisation. These projects must be useful for healthcare professionals and\/or patients and be able to be integrated into the healthcare system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>Andalusia, the main focus of attraction of digital talent for the company<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dedalus Iberia makes its mark in Andalusia. The <\/span><b>Digital Health Datathon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is part of the growth strategy of the company, which already has 260 professionals in Andalusia, more than 50% of its workforce in Iberia (Spain and Portugal,) in its centres of excellence based in the M\u00e1laga TechPark and Seville. These centres are working on the development of digital hospital management solutions, open digital health history platforms, care coordination and chronic care management, digital pathology, data management and analytics and Artificial Intelligence, among other digital solutions to meet the needs of the healthcare sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this sense, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dedalus wants to support the transformation of the healthcare ecosystem towards a data-driven and person-centred healthcare model, supported by an open technology stack to foster collaboration at regional, national and international level,\u2019 highlights <\/span><b>Marisa Felipe, CEO of Dedalus Iberia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u2018Andalusia is key to our growth strategy in the Iberia region. We are passionate about innovation and with this Datathon, we aim to attract the best professionals to undertake new projects successfully<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u2019 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">adds Marisa Felipe.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h6><b>The universities of M\u00e1laga and Seville have joined the pioneering initiative in the Andalusian region\u00a0<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><b>Manuel Enciso, director of the ETSI Inform\u00e1tica de M\u00e1laga<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u2018it is a luxury to have Dedalus, a reference in digital health worldwide, for an initiative of this type, and it makes visible the collaboration that we have been developing for a long time. This initiative enriches our students by promoting an immersive experience in a real problem that they will also share with students from the University of Seville, establishing yet another line of joint work in the joint degree in Health Engineering.\u2019 In addition, he assures that \u2018it will stimulate the curiosity of students to work in new environments<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Likewise, <\/span><b>M\u00aa del Carmen Romero, director of the ETSI Inform\u00e1tica de Sevilla<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, states that \u2018she is convinced that this is an excellent opportunity for students to work on interdisciplinary projects. They will be able to apply their skills and knowledge to real problems and challenges in the field of health from different perspectives, which will lead to creative and innovative solutions.
