The system consists of six categories: Sustainable Site, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality and Design Innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Given the location of the building, an effort has been made to reduce the use of potable water. To this end, native or adapted plants have been selected that are irrigated with non-potable water and sanitary elements have been installed that allow water savings of over 40% compared to the LEED reference building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In terms of energy, the building envelope has been designed with an improved level of insulation and exterior solar protection elements, highly efficient lighting that allows savings of close to 50%, high-performance VRF equipment and DHW production using aerothermal energy. All this, combined, allows savings of more than 36% compared to the reference building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concerning materials, elements with a high recycled content have been used, with a cost of over 20%, and the waste generated has been properly managed, with over 80% by weight being diverted from landfill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the construction of the building, care was taken at all times to ensure that air quality was maintained to prevent dust and the proliferation of dampness and fungus during the operation of the building. Ventilation levels have been increased to ensure a good supply of outside air, and materials with very low volatile organic compound content have been selected (paints, adhesives, sealants and flooring) to avoid the presence of these harmful components during the operation of the building. Finally, the design has allowed high access to natural lighting and views to the outside from most of the offices.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>About Rosalind<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Rosalind building, promoted by M\u00e1laga TechPark, has involved an investment of 5.9 million euros. It has 5,537 square metres, of which 3,780 metres have been reserved for offices. It also has 52 parking spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The building pays homage to the British chemist Rosalind Franklin and is part of the complex known as Smart \u00c1gora.
