The last edition in Spain was held in Valencia in 2015<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Photonics and advanced communications were the key topics at the third international InnoDay event organised by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/innovairv.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Fundaci\u00f3n Instituto Ricardo Valle de Innovaci\u00f3n (Innova IRV)<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which was held on 11 October at Link by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uma.es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UMA<\/a>, located in the expansion area of the Teatinos university campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Throughout this year, these events have brought together over 200 collaborators and participants in the business, academic and institutional fields at a national level. Innova IRV has thus revitalised their areas of work such as microelectronics, artificial intelligence, advanced communications and cybersecurity in very different fields, including connected vehicles, aerospace systems, digital health, circular economy, food tech and industry 4.0.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Leceta<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Director General of Innova IRV, and <\/span><b>Javier L\u00f3pez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, vice rector of Business, Territory and Digital Transformation at the University of M\u00e1laga and vice president of Innova IRV, welcomed the attendees and pointed out that &#8220;with this event, Innova IRV has reached another goal, going from a local and national level to finally an international level, thanks to a broad vision to support the national ecosystem of the sector.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the participation of <\/span><b>Roberto Viola<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Director General of DG Connect at the European Commission, the event was part of an international and European agenda. Roberto Viola emphasised that it is essential to support &#8220;great European champions in technology&#8221; so that they can compete in global markets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, <\/span><b>Jos\u00e9 Capmany<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Professor of Photonics at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Valencia<\/a> and co-founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/ipronics.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iPronics<\/a>, stated that &#8220;photonics is crucial to enhance semiconductor performance and energy efficiency.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, he announced that M\u00e1laga will be hosting the European Conference on Optical Communication in 2026, which will be held at the conference centre <a href=\"https:\/\/fycma.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Palacio de Ferias y Congresos (FYCMA)<\/a>. This conference&#8217;s last edition in Spain was celebrated in Valencia in 2015. This European event will strengthen the cooperation between Innova IRV and Valencia Silicon Cluster.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The round table conference focused on topics such as advanced communications, covering from aerospace and quantum systems to digital health and artificial intelligence. The panel of experts was composed of <\/span><b>Jos\u00e9 Antonio Gonz\u00e1lez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Digital Business manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telefonica.es\/es\/\">Telef\u00f3nica Spain<\/a>; <\/span><b>Jos\u00e9 Carlos P\u00e9rez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, South region manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orange.es\">Orange<\/a>; <\/span><b>Jes\u00fas Amores<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, head of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vodafone.es\/c\/particulares\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vodafone<\/a> M\u00e1laga Innovation Hub; and <\/span><b>Mari Carmen Aguayo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, director of the TELMA Institute (Telecommunications Research Institute of the University of M\u00e1laga).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Antonio G\u00f3mez-Guillam\u00f3n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/aertecsolutions.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AERTEC<\/a> and vice president of Innova IRV, brought the event to a close, thanking all the speakers and participants for exploring &#8220;such an interesting topic at the Innoday event.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The INNO-DAY events are supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/ametic.es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AMETIC<\/a>, aiming to become a regular meeting in order to <\/span><b>shape new ideas and projects within the areas of work of Innova IRV<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. As a result of this annual cycle, Innova IRV will talk with collaborators and participants to create its Co-creation Hub in 2024, identifying and promoting major flagship
