Loyal to its commitment to freedom of expression, debate, and current affairs, this programme, free and open to anyone interested, includes new formats and extends its duration one week more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In total, 23 seminaries, nine master class and two round tables make up this summer catalogue, which will be held in the traditional headquarters. It will open, as usual, Marbella from 25 to 28 June; from 2 to 5 July, the classrooms will move to Ronda and V\u00e9lez-M\u00e1laga; and different parts of the capital will host these meetingS from 8 to 19 July. M\u00e1laga TechPark is once again leader of one of the courses, this time entitled \u201cFot\u00f3nica, \u00bfes la tecnolog\u00eda del siglo XXI?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The academic quality, the high level of speakers and the rigour of the topics will once again endorse the national and international prestige of this edition of the Summer Courses, that offer an open space for the exchange of ideals and the continuous learning through a wide variety of subjects. Thus, in the field of health, eating disorders, brain health and the importance of nutrition will be addressed. Technology will have its own space, with titles dedicated to cybersecurity, quantum computing and photonics. Culture will be another of the main pillars of this programme, with courses of heritage, urban art and literature, focusing on Mar\u00eda Zambrano and her relationship with Latin America, Vicente Espinel and the \u201cd\u00e9cima\u201d (ten-line stanza) or the profession of the letters.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Likewise, the analysis of the current tourism situation will be restarted and, backed by the success of last year\u2019s edition, a seminar of autism will once again be added to the catalogue. The heterogeneity of proposals is completed by issues such as cancer research, equality policies, territorial unity, diplomacy or disinformation that will share place with activities related to the Army, Easter, freemasonry and constitutionalism or drug trafficking in the south of Spain. For the third consecutive year, one of the courses will be held in the provincial prison of M\u00e1laga, reaffirming the commitment to inclusion and universal training of this offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the personalities that will take part in these events will be the Minister of Agriculture Luis Planas; the former Vice-president of the Government Soraya S\u00e1enz de Santamar\u00eda; the humorist and presenter Manu S\u00e1nchez; the philosopher and essayist Jos\u00e9 Antonio Marina; the journalist and writer Isa\u00edas Lafuente; the psychologist and announcer Arun Mansukhani; the AI expert Sof\u00eda L\u00f3pez, the writer Lorenzo Silva or the saxophonist Tete Leal. They will be joined, until adding 260 participants in other conferences and debates, the minister of Defence Margarita Robles; the musicians Ni\u00f1o de Elche and Zenet; the artist Rogelio L\u00f3pez Cuenca, Premio Nacional de Artes Pl\u00e1sticas (National Prize of Plastic Arts); the architect Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Ezquiaga; the writers Elvira Roca, Chantal Maillard, Alexis D\u00edaz Pimienta or Remedios Zafra; and representatives from the political and social field, such as the counsellors of the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda Roc\u00edo Blanco and Arturo Bernal; the general Amador Ense\u00f1at y Berea, Chief of Staff of Spanish land Army; Ana Gonz\u00e1lez-Pinto, president of the Fundaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Psiquiatr\u00eda y Salud Mental (Spanish Foundation of Psychiatry and Mental Health), and Luis Ferrao, president of the University of Puerto Rico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Presentation<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The rector Teodomiro L\u00f3pez and Diego Vera, general director of FGUMA, presented the contents of this edition, in an event which was also attended by Miguel Briones, regional delegate for Educational Development and Vocational Training and of the University of the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda; Mar\u00eda de la Paz Fern\u00e1ndez, mayoress of Ronda; Jes\u00fas Lupi\u00e1\u00f1ez, mayor of V\u00e9lez-M\u00e1laga; F\u00e9lix Romero, first deputy mayor of Marbella; and Fernando Leguina, director of Education of M\u00e1laga town hall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diego Vera has stood out that \u201cthe Summer Courses of the UMA are already a milestone in the national university scene,\u201d and he has pointed out, among its main strengths, the public-private alliance that make them possible \u2013 a network of 40 entities-, as well as the quality and the current affairs of the chosen topics and the versatility of the formats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the director of the FGUMA said that as a novelty of this new edition it has been necessary to extend the time, by increasing by one week the courses at the headquarters of M\u00e1laga, for instance. \u201cOur aim is to put relevant issues on the table and highlight the strengths of the University of M\u00e1laga.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For his part, the rector has highlighted the commitment to the province and has thanked the FGUMA for its hard work in organizing such high-level Summer Courses that will convey to society \u201cthe power, the motor and the excellence of the University.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All courses will have a duration of ten hours and they will be taught face-to-face, although some of them will also be broadcast via streaming to satisfy the interest of people from other provinces or countries. Students who complete the programme will receive an official certificate from the University of M\u00e1laga, with the corresponding recognition of ECTS credits for undergraduate degrees taught at this university. The enrolment period started on 30 May via the website fguma.es.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The UMA Summer Courses have the collaboration of the city town halls of all the venues and with the support of other public and private entities, as well as research projects.
