{"id":21182,"date":"2024-11-05T08:36:28","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T08:36:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/?p=21182"},"modified":"2024-11-05T08:36:28","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T08:36:28","slug":"the-university-of-malaga-joins-the-cluster-andalucia-aerospace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/en\/noticias\/the-university-of-malaga-joins-the-cluster-andalucia-aerospace\/","title":{"rendered":"The University of M\u00e1laga joins the cluster Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><b>After the presentation of the cooperation agreement signed by both institutions, an Aerospace Meeting organized by Observatory Digital Eye by M\u00e1laga TechPark and the University of M\u00e1laga was held<\/b><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uma.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of M\u00e1laga<\/a> and the Cluster Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace have both signed a scientific-technical cooperation agreement, aimed at promoting actions linked to the aeronautic and aerospace sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference in which the content of this agreement was announced took place in the Green Lemon building of Malaga Tech Park and featured presentations by, the Vice-Rector for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technology Transfer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Business and Digital Transformation, Enrique M\u00e1rquez; the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deputy <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vice-Rector<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for Innovation and Technology Transfer, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Sergio Fortes; the General Director of Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace, the Andalusian Aerospace and Defence Business Cluster, Juan Rom\u00e1n Gallego,\u00a0 and the President of the Cluster, Antonio G\u00f3mez-Guillam\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The agreement establishes the objective of promoting research, transfer, dissemination and training activities in areas of common interest. In addition to scientific cooperation, it also lays the foundations for facilitating the development of joint projects and activities in the area of innovation applied to business and the development of entrepreneurship in the aerospace sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enrique M\u00e1rquez explained that the purpose of this meeting, which is the result of the ongoing collaboration between the University of M\u00e1laga, M\u00e1laga Tech Park (MTP) and the MTP Aerospace Systems Cluster,\u00a0 \u201cis to showcase the capabilities of UMA\u2019s research groups in the aerospace sector and to create opportunities for new collaborations with companies in this field\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Boosting innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juan Rom\u00e1n emphasized the importance of collaborating with universities, \u201csince we want to boost innovation and make it accessible to SMEs in the sector.\u201d The general director of Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace, which brings together 100 companies in Andalusia, also highlighted the potential of creating consortia made up of companies of various sizes and universities to apply for R&amp;D projects, both national and European.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Green Lemon event, in addition to the presence of the Cluster companies, MTP and UMA researchers, included a round table with representatives of the Spanish Aerospace Technology Platform (PAE) and Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace &#8211; Andalusian Aerospace Business Cluster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the explanation of the details regarding UMA&#8217;s membership in the Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace Cluster, Vice-Rector Enrique M\u00e1rquez; Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace President, AERTEC Solutions CEO and co-founder, Antonio G\u00f3mez-Guillam\u00f3n; and M\u00e1laga TechPark\u2019s Director of Business Development and Investment Attraction, Lourdes Cruz, welcomed attendees to the &#8216;Aerospace Forum&#8217; organized by the Digital Eye Observatory, an initiative by UMA and M\u00e1laga TechPark.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Deputy Vice-Rector of Technology Transfer, Sergio Fortes, discussed the R&amp;D+I capabilities in Aerospace at the University of Malaga and the connection with companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was followed by a round table that discussed all aspects related to the aerospace sector in Malaga through collaboration and knowledge transfer. Participants included the Secretary-General of the Spanish Aerospace Technology Platform (PAE), Andr\u00e9s Catal\u00e1n, the General Director of the Andalusian Aerospace Business Cluster, Andaluc\u00eda Aerospace, Juan Rom\u00e1n; and the Deputy Vice-Rector, Sergio Fortes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During this round table, the topics discussed were university-industry transfer in the sector, the most significant technological challenges and opportunities in this segment, and key catalytic elements.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, the<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vice-Rector for Technology Transfer, Business and Digital Transformation of the UMA, Enrique M\u00e1rquez, explained everything related to the mechanisms and opportunities for collaboration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal of this meeting, a result of the ongoing collaboration between the University of Malaga, M\u00e1laga TechPark, and the Aerospace Systems Cluster of the park, is to showcase the research capabilities of the University of Malaga in the aerospace sector and to create opportunities for new collaborations with companies in the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>About the M\u00e1laga TechPark\u00b4s Aerospace Systems Cluster<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aerospace Systems Cluster at M\u00e1laga TechPark was established in 2013 with the aim of facilitating a collaborative environment for the generation of business and opportunities in the aerospace sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is currently made up of 26 companies with around 2,500 professionals working in Malaga TechPark for the aerospace industry. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This group of companies has established itself as one of the leading clusters in the park and specializes in digital systems and technologies such as transportation, defense, airports, software development, telecommunications, electronics, business intelligence, digital solutions, systems integration, RPAs\/UAVs, avionics, and aerospace engineering and consulting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cluster is committed to the &#8220;new space,&#8221; that focuses on satellite technologies, onboard systems, cloud solutions, downstream applications, artificial intelligence, IoT, connectivity, robotics, machine learning, automation, cybersecurity, cognitive technologies, blockchain, big data, analytics, and 5G technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The companies currently comprising the cluster are: Accenture, Aertec Solutions, AES, Atyges Ingenier\u00eda, Babel, Byevolution, Capgemini, CGI, Clue, Cordis Suite, DHV Technology, Darwin, Denso, Dekra, Green Moon Project, Idneo, Indra, Keysight Technologies, Mades, MLabs Optronics, NTS Technics, Premo, RfMW, Sogeti part of Capgemini, Tupl y Viewnext.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aerospace Systems Cluster at M\u00e1laga TechPark also includes the University of Malaga, which is a member of the Spanish Aerospace Platform and contributes the work of significant research groups involved in R&amp;D projects for the aerospace
