The event will brought together over 100 attendees from science and technology parks across Spain, European experts in research, transfer, and development, as well as representatives from regional development agencies associated with the European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference has been an unique opportunity to strengthen connections in knowledge valorization and regional development, as well as to promote technology transfer and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event started with an opening ceremony featuring Vice-Rector for Transfer, Innovation, and Scientific Outreach at the <\/span><b>University of Alicante<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Pastor; Councillor for Employment and Development at the Alicante City Council, Mar\u00eda del Carmen de Espa\u00f1a; a representative from the<\/span><b> Valencian Generalitat\u00b4s Ministry of Innovation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; and <\/span><b>Felipe Romera, President of APTE.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program featured two round tables key for the sector. The first one, titled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><b><i>The Impact of Science and Technology Parks on Knowledge and Technology Transfer<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> explored the crucial role these spaces play in driving innovation. This panel was moderated by Managing Director of APTE, Soledad D\u00edaz, and will include the participation of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Alicia Shelley<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Director of Operations and Partnerships of the International Association of theInternational Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Jos\u00e9 Izquierdo<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Adviser in the Business Development Department from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Olga Franc\u00e9s<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, member of the OTRI Networko in the University of Alicante.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Juan Antonio Bertol\u00edn,\u00a0 <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Director of Science and Technology Park of the University Jaume I in Castell\u00f3n, ESPAITEC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Roberta Dall\u2019Olio, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Director of the European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Pedro Naval\u00f3n, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">General Manager of Labaqua (company of the Alicante Science Park).<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second round table, titled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><b><i>New Open and Participatory Approaches for Knowledge and Technology Transfer,<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> explored more collaborative approaches to promote co-creation. This panel was moderated by the founder of Stickydot, Marzia Mazzonetto and will include the participation of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Iphigenia Pottaki,\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Policy Officer in Unit Knowledge valorisation and IPR, DG Research and Innovation, European Commission.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Mireia Manent, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">co-founder and senior project manager of WeDo.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Esteban Pelayo, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">manager in the Alicante Science Park<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b><b>Elzbieta J. Ksiazek<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Advice and Technology Transfer del Poznan Science and Technology Park.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Xiaomi Li,\u00a0 <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">member of the Department of Business Management of the Rovira i Virgili University<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Juan Carlos Trujillo, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">co-founder and chief scientific office from Lucentia Lab (Alicante Science Park Company).\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference concluded with the APTE awards ceremony, where the <\/span><b>Best Practice in Science and Technology Parks of APTE 2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be recognized, along with the <\/span><b>most active parks in the Project Managers Network of APTE during 2023<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Additionally, the<\/span><b> VII Awards for the Promotion of Science and Technology Parks in the Spanish Press <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be presented, honoring the media most involved in promoting the activities carried out by science and technology parks across Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On November 20, APTE convened its <\/span><b>\u00a0Project Managers Network<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and hold it<\/span><b>s III General Assembly of 2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, during which parks celebrating their 20th anniversary will be recognized. Additionally, networking activities will take place, offering participants the chance to strengthen ties and explore future collaborations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Manager of the Alicante Science Park, Esteban Pelayo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> emphasized the importance of this event: &#8220;Alicante is the perfect setting to host this conference, which will not only allow the key players in Spain\u2019s innovation ecosystem to share experiences and knowledge but also boost international and regional collaboration. We are confident that this meeting will strengthen technology and knowledge transfer and open new avenues for sustainable regional development and collaborative innovation. The conference reflects the Alicante Science Park&#8217;s commitment to excellence and to the creation of synergies that make a difference in the technology sector\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>President of APTE, Felipe Romera<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, considered the APTE International Conference to be \u201ca great opportunity to exchange diverse perspectives on the key roles of Spanish science and technology parks with parks and entities from other countries.
