{"id":24086,"date":"2025-04-24T06:59:39","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T06:59:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/?p=24086"},"modified":"2025-04-24T06:59:39","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T06:59:39","slug":"malaga-techpark-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/en\/noticias\/malaga-techpark-employees\/","title":{"rendered":"Six out of ten M\u00e1laga TechPark Employees Live in M\u00e1laga City"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A survey of 27 companies from the technopolis, representing 33% of the workforce, shows that 94% of the employees reside within the province of M\u00e1laga<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M\u00e1laga TechPark<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has conducted a data collection initiative between companies within the park to determine the main places of residence of its workforce.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The results came from a survey carried out between January and March 2025, covering 27 companies from the technopolis. These companies collectively employ 8,623 people, representing 33% of M\u00e1laga TechPark\u2019s total workforce of 27,940 employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A diverse range of companies participated in the study, including large multinational corporations, local SMEs, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bic.es\/\">startups<\/a>, and recently established foreign companies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the main study insights is that most M\u00e1laga TechPark employees (94%) live within the province of M\u00e1laga. Of the remaining 6%, 4% live in other Andalusian provinces, with a significant number residing in Granada, C\u00e1diz, and C\u00f3rdoba. The remaining 2% live outside Andalusia, primarily in Madrid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Cruz de Humilladero District stands out among M\u00e1laga residents<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within the province, 59% of employees live in the capital. The Cruz de Humilladero district is the most common, home to 11% of all surveyed employees. The rest of the workforce lives in areas such as Carretera de C\u00e1diz (9%), Bail\u00e9n-Miraflores (7%), and M\u00e1laga Este and the city center, each with 7%.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The remaining 31% of employees are distributed in:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Western Costa del Sol (13%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guadalhorce Valley (10%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eastern Costa del Sol (7%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other provinces (4%)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the first time, M\u00e1laga TechPark has gathered more detailed information on the municipalities outside the city. The percentages of employees in other regions of the province are:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Serran\u00eda de Ronda (1.40%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Antequera (1.24%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guadalteba (0.81%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Northeastern region (0.56%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sierra de las Nieves (0.24%)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The municipalities with the highest percentage of employees are:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rinc\u00f3n de la Victoria (3.8%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Torremolinos (3.8%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alhaur\u00edn de la Torre (3.2%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C\u00e1rtama (3.2%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Benalm\u00e1dena (3.1%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mijas (2%)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When comparing the 2024 results to previous studies (2008, 2018, 2019, and 2023), M\u00e1laga city hosts the largest number of residents. However, there has been a gradual decline over the past 15 years, with an increasing number of employees living in other municipalities across the province.
