She encouraged girls not to limit themselves, emphasizing that they are well-prepared to pursue these careers, though self-demand and fear of failure are common barriers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She also urged them to explore places like M\u00e1laga\u2019s Polo Digital, which promotes technology from an early age.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beatriz Bl\u00e1zquez underlined the University of M\u00e1laga\u2019s commitment to promoting female talent in science and technology: \u201cWe have launched programs like Hedy Lamarr Chair for Women and Technology, and the \u2018Como t\u00fa\u2019 initiative, which brings together more than 140 female scientists and technologists.\u201d They also collaborate with schools and companies to bring role models into classrooms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paloma Rodr\u00edguez underscored the transformative power of technology: \u201cIt\u2019s crucial to remember that science and technology are essential tools for improving societal well-being, especially when combined with social sciences.\u201d She shared that the Regional Ministry is working to involve students in projects related to these areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elena Chavarr\u00eda emphasized Hitachi Rail\u2019s commitment to Science and Technology in Feminine<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and diversity: \u201cThese initiatives are part of our innovation and inclusion strategy. In the European rail sector, only 26% of roles are held by women, even though they comprise 46% of the workforce. We need more women and diverse perspectives to design better solutions for society,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Key figures\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the opening remarks, project leader Lole Franco presented the main results of this edition: 21 science and technology parks from APTE participated, hosting a total of 38 events with over 3,000 students from 50 schools across Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Survey data revealed that 36% of participating girls are inclined toward STEAM-related careers, but only 7.6% are considering purely tech professions. Notably, 6% of the girls reported changing their minds and now aspire to a STEM career after participating in the program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When combined with the results from previous editions, 8% of nearly 12,000 girls have shifted toward STEAM disciplines thanks to the over 280 events held since 2018, supported by more than 20 APTE-member parks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tambi\u00e9n se ha hecho referencia a las nuevas colaboraciones con la Fundaci\u00f3n Inspiring Girls, especializada en programas de mentoring y con KeepCoding, una escuela de formaci\u00f3n online en programaci\u00f3n y tecnolog\u00eda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New collaborations specialized in mentoring programs were also announced with the Inspiring Girls Foundation and KeepCoding, an online tech and programming school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Panel Discussion<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event continued with a panel moderated by Soledad D\u00edaz, APTE\u2019s Managing Director, focusing on female leadership and fostering early STEAM vacations. Panelists included:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sof\u00eda Schneider, VP AI South &amp; M\u00e1laga Site Leader at Oracle, and coordinator of the M\u00e1laga TechPark Execs Women Leadership network.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teresa Cruz, General Director of the Descubre Foundation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esther Tor\u00e9s, M\u00e1laga delegate for the ASTI Foundation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teresa Cruz highlighted the importance of \u201cmaking role models visible and bringing science closer to society.\u201d She recommended resources such as <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/turismocientifico.es\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TurismoCientifico.es<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the Descubre Foundation online agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sof\u00eda Schneider shared her work with M\u00e1laga TechPark Execs Women Leadership: \u201cWe are 50 women leaders mentoring within park companies, giving talks in schools, and organizing networking activities. We want to inspire, spark curiosity, and help young girls dream without limits.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esther Tor\u00e9s explained the work of STEM Talent Girl: \u201cWe support students from secondary school through university in discovering their vocation. This year, we reached M\u00e1laga with 256 students. Alongside technical skills, we promote creativity, teamwork, and resilience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pressentation by Mar\u00eda Garc\u00eda Puyol<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mar\u00eda Garc\u00eda Puyol, AI software engineer at Google Cloud M\u00e1laga, delivered an inspiring keynote about her remarkable career. After a decade at Google\u2019s Mountain View headquarters (California), she returned to M\u00e1laga to develop AI solutions. In 2018, MIT\u00a0 Technology Review named her one of Europe\u2019s Top 35 Innovators under 35 for her work on Android\u2019s emergency location system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Competition<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event closed with the announcement of the winners of the 7th edition of the \u201cInnovative proposals for sustainable development challenges\u201d contest. The first prize went to students from Colegio Salesianos Santo \u00c1ngel for their project \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/rhXTLI_NSqs\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BOSQUI<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, in collaboration with Parque Cient\u00edfico Tecnol\u00f3gico Avil\u00e9s Isla de la Innovaci\u00f3n<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winners received a trophy, a Lego robotics kit, the book <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supermujeres<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">superinventoras<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and a tech course from KeepCoding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second place went to Colegio Regina Carmeli<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for creating \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/HLveerSO7uo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE GARDEN FOR ANIMALS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u201d in collaboration with Val\u00e8ncia Parc Tencol\u00f2gic of Paterna<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third place was awarded to IES Bovalar<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/-gbMltnicoY\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LIPLACA BOT<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, in collaboration with Espaitec, Science and Technology Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castell\u00f3.
