In addition, the total revenue generated by companies and organizations based in these parks rose to <\/span><b>\u20ac31.576 billion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, reflecting a <\/span><b>9.2%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> increase and a strong economic performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of companies and organizations located in the parks rose to <\/span><b>6,000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a <\/span><b>1.6%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> increase over the previous year. This trend reflects the parks\u2019 ability to attract and retain talent and innovative projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In terms of employment, the parks hosted a total of <\/span><b>168,462 professionals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a <\/span><b>4.4%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> increase. Among them, <\/span><b>42,170<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are engaged in R&amp;D activities, a <\/span><b>9.1%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> rise, highlighting the growing concentration of specialized talent within these environments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gender equality is also gaining traction: <\/span><b>790 companies are led by women<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, representing 24.5% of the total (according to data from 40 parks). Additionally, <\/span><b>1,175 companies have implemented equality plans<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, amounting to 26.3% of the total (based on data from 35 parks).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sectoral diversity of the parks remains one of their strengths. The <\/span><b>information, computing, and telecommunications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sectors lead activity with <\/span><b>24%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, followed by <\/span><b>engineering, consulting, and advisory services (17%), and medicine and health (7%).<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These results reaffirm the key role of science and technology parks in Spain\u2019s business and innovation ecosystem, acting as true catalysts for economic and social development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of its General Assembly, APTE also hosted a roundtable focused on the role of science and technology parks in the context of Spain\u2019s <\/span><b>new Industry and Strategic Autonomy Law<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The roundtable included Carles Fillat, Head of the Business Campus at the Tecnocampus Matar\u00f3-Maresme Foundation; Bel\u00e9n Talavera, Project Manager at FUNDECYT-PCTEx; and Javier Taibo, General Manager of the Technology Park of Galicia- Tecn\u00f3pole<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This discussion highlighted the parks\u2019 role in facilitating the transition to a more sustainable, innovation-driven industry. In Galicia, the emphasis was placed on energy independence through renewable sources, while Extremadura is focusing on energy storage infrastructure to support energy-intensive industries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Catalonia, initiatives such as \u201cReimagine Textil\u201d were presented (projects that promote circular economy principles and collaboration with local suppliers) alongside other environmental and social sustainability efforts. Examples like the Almer\u00eda Science and Technology Park (PITA), which fosters circular economy synergies among companies in areas such as energy, water, and materials, were exposed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants agreed that parks can serve as hubs for replicable best practices for industry, such as shared self-consumption systems, sustainable mobility, and resource reuse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Talent development and attraction also emerged as a key theme. The mismatch between current educational offerings and actual industrial needs was addressed, with parks positioned as bridges between businesses and universities to define new professional profiles, particularly in digitalization. M\u00e1laga TechPark, for instance, hosts working groups where companies help define required profiles and collaborate with universities to develop tailored training programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">APTE also announced the addition of a new Affiliate Member: the <\/span><b>Science and Technology Park of La Rioja (TECHRIOJA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, bringing the association\u2019s total membership to <\/span><b>61<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In addition, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/apte_techno\/docs\/directorio_apte_2025\"><b>APTE 2025 Directory<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was unveiled\u2014a publication
