Designed to support lifelong professional upskilling and reskilling, the platform provides easy and intuitive access to all online continuing education programs offered by the University of M\u00e1laga.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the presentation, the rector described the new platform as a \u201cstrategic and necessary\u201d project and emphasized the importance of lifelong learning in a social context that demands \u201cconstant renewal of knowledge and skills\u201d. The Vice-Rector for Doctoral and Postgraduate Studies, Salvador P\u00e9rez Moreno, and the rector\u2019s delegate for Technological Innovation, Javier L\u00f3pez, accompanied him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P\u00e9rez Moreno highlighted the University of M\u00e1laga\u2019s robust and comprehensive portfolio of continuing education programs, calling it \u201ca high-quality offering designed to meet current labor market demands.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The course offerings include postgraduate programs, university extension courses, and micro-credentials, aimed at both university graduates and the general public. These programs are delivered in in-person, hybrid, and online formats, tailored to the professional and personal needs of students. \u201cThe demand for online education continues to grow because people are looking for learning models that fit their lifestyle and pace,\u201d he explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also emphasized the key role of micro-credentials, a format endorsed by the European Commission and actively developed at the University of M\u00e1laga for over a year. These short, modular programs certify specific competencies and already include over 30 active programs at the university, many of which are available in online or hybrid formats. They are short, flexible, and stackable courses, designed to help learners acquire in-demand skills in a targeted and practical way.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>Accessible and intuitive technology<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Javier L\u00f3pez, the rector\u2019s Delegate for Technological Innovation, presented the platform\u2019s origins and technical features. The design, he noted, emerged directly in response to the needs expressed by companies based in the Andalusia Technology Park, M\u00e1laga TechPark. \u201cWe wanted to create a learning environment that meets real business needs, especially in an ecosystem where continuous learning has become a strategic tool for business competitiveness,\u201d L\u00f3pez explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The portal offers quick and clear access to the entire course catalog, organized into areas such as Arts and Humanities, Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, and multidisciplinary studies. \u201cWe\u2019ve created a space where information is easy to find, with intuitive navigation, well-structured content, and a subject-based search engine,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each course includes a detailed information sheet with all relevant information: course director (with a direct contact option), price, number of instructional hours, ECTS credits, modules, and specific content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis platform not only serves those who wish to continue their education but also represents added value for companies, which can now keep their teams\u2019 knowledge constantly updated,\u201d he concluded.
