innovation ecosystems will gather at the Gij\u00f3n Science and Technology Park to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the blue economy as a driver of territorial transformation<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gijon.es\/es\/directorio\/parque-cientifico-tecnologico-de-gijon\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gij\u00f3n Science and Technology Park<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is preparing to host the 23rd International Conference of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apte.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">APTE<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), which will take place on November 6 at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creaci\u00f3n Industrial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the theme \u201cBlue Economy 5.0: Innovation, Talent and Sustainability for a Smart Coastal Future,\u201d the event will bring together more than 100 professionals, experts and institutional representatives linked to innovation, sustainability and regional development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organized by APTE and Gij\u00f3n Impulsa, the managing entity of the Gij\u00f3n Science and Technology Park, the conference forms part of a dual celebration: a reflection on the role of innovation in coastal transformation, and the 25th anniversary of the Gij\u00f3n Science and Technology Park, a benchmark for business and scientific development in Asturias.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The institutional opening will feature addresses by <\/span><b>Carmen Moriy\u00f3n Entrialgo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Mayor of Gij\u00f3n; <\/span><b>Juan Carlos Campo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Principality of Asturias; and <\/span><b>Jos\u00e9 Mois\u00e9s Mart\u00edn Carretero<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Director General of the Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI). <\/span><b>Felipe Romera<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, President of APTE, will then deliver the official welcome to attendees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The international keynote address will be delivered by <\/span><b>Susana Pinheiro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Business Development Director at <\/span><b>UPTEC \u2013 University of Porto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with a lecture titled \u201cInnovation and the Blue Economy: The UPTEC Model and Its Regional Impact.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following these lectures, two thematic round tables will explore the major challenges of the blue economy:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first one, <\/span><b>\u201cTechnological Ecosystems for a Smart Blue Economy\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will be moderated by <\/span><b>Clara G\u00e1lvez Verd\u00fa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Director of Internal Control and Procurement style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program will also include a closing reflection titled \u201c25 Years of the Gij\u00f3n Science and Technology Park and Its Blue Projection,\u201d featuring <\/span><b>\u00c1ngela Pumariega Men\u00e9ndez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Economy, Employment, Tourism, and Innovation of the Gij\u00f3n City Council, and<\/span><b> Luis D\u00edaz Guti\u00e9rrez<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Managing Director of Gij\u00f3n Impulsa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference will conclude with the APTE Awards Ceremony, recognizing the <\/span><b>Best Practice in APTE Science<\/b> <b>and Technology Parks 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><b>most active parks within the Technical Network during 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, the <\/span><b>8th APTE Science and Technology Parks Media Awards <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will honor journalists and media outlets that have most actively promoted the dissemination of science and technology park activities across Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The closing session will include the <\/span><b>handover of the APTE flag<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the host park of the next international conference in 2026, followed by the official closing remarks by APTE President <\/span><b>Felipe Romera.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Pre-Conference Activities and Networking<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On <\/span><b>November 5<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the day before the main event, internal meetings of APTE\u2019s Technical Network will take place, along with a round table on R&amp;D&amp;I infrastructures and the <\/span><b>Association\u2019s General Assembly.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attendees will also enjoy a guided tour of the <\/span><b>Milla del Conocimiento Margarita Salas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the epicenter of Gij\u00f3n\u2019s innovation ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00c1ngela Pumariega<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> emphasized that \u201cBlue Economy 5.0 represents a great opportunity for Gij\u00f3n, a city with a clear coastal, innovative, and sustainable vocation. Hosting the 23rd APTE International Conference as our Science Park celebrates its 25th anniversary is an excellent way to showcase this potential and position Gij\u00f3n as a national benchmark in
