The study shows that the park generates an overall (direct and indirect) impact of \u20ac4,836.31 million on Andalusian GDP, equivalent to 2.33% of the regional total, and reaches an even greater share of the province (10.68%) and the city of M\u00e1laga (34.97%).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On this point, Espa\u00f1a stressed that \u201cthe figures presented confirm that M\u00e1laga TechPark is one of the great economic drivers in Andalusia, with a growing and sustained impact that is increasingly decisive for the creation of wealth and employment.\u201d She also declared that \u201cnobody can deny the extraordinary moment M\u00e1laga TechPark is experiencing, an essential and strategic infrastructure for both the present and future economy of Andalusia.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study, conducted by researchers Germ\u00e1n G\u00e9mar and Fernando Isla, shows the technopolis\u2019 key role both now and in the future, emphasising \u201cits very positive outlook, considering the variables analysed.\u201d \u201cGiven its growth trajectory, expectations for the park are obviously high,\u201d Isla said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The results of said report were also presented by the chief executive of M\u00e1laga TechPark, Felipe Romera, who noted that \u201cthis impact study confirms the sharp increase in the contribution of the technology park\u2019s companies to the economic development of the city of M\u00e1laga, the province, and Andalusia.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, the analysis presented by Romera illustrates the park\u2019s steady evolution and its growing importance within the Andalusian technology ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>M\u00e1laga TechPark generates 70,968 direct and indirect jobs<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study confirms the park\u2019s significant multiplier effect. Every euro of GDP generated turns into \u20ac2.4 in the Andalusian economy, rising to \u20ac2.9 when household consumption effects are included. Likewise, each euro of production in the park becomes \u20ac2.6 in Andalusia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In terms of employment, the total impact amounts to 70,968 direct and indirect jobs, and each direct job created generates 3.7 additional positions in the regional economy. Regarding this point, Espa\u00f1a noted that \u201cthe technopolis has a great capacity to create qualified employment and attract talent, driving entire chains of economic activity and contributing to the well-being and prosperity of Andalusians.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report explains that 31.56% of the city\u2019s employment is directly or indirectly connected to the activity of the park, meaning that one in three jobs depends on the M\u00e1laga TechPark ecosystem. \u201cMore than a third of the employment in the city of M\u00e1laga is linked to the park, a fact that best reflects the scale of M\u00e1laga TechPark\u2019s impact on our territory,\u201d Espa\u00f1a highlighted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These figures reinforce the idea that M\u00e1laga TechPark has established itself as a strategic infrastructure for economic development, innovation, and talent attraction in Andalusia. The report notes that the park is also emerging as a key element of the future European microchip supply chain, boosted by the upcoming installation of imec, a world-leading centre in microelectronics and semiconductors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Productivity 43% higher than the Andalusian average<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study also highlights the park\u2019s high productivity, averaging \u20ac157,199 per worker, 43% higher than the Andalusian average (\u20ac109,800). This competitiveness is due to the strong technological specialisation in M\u00e1laga TechPark, home to companies in 51 sectors (out of a total of 81 according to the Andalusian Input-Output Framework), with particular emphasis on telecommunications and software programming, which together account for 38% of the park\u2019s Gross Value Added (GVA).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overall, the park\u2019s activity generates \u20ac1772.7 million in GVA, equivalent to 45% of its total production. The study also notes that the impact on Andalusian production amounts to \u20ac10,119.75 million, which represents 2.74% of the regional total. In the province and the city of M\u00e1laga, the impact reaches 14.66% and 48.01%, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>A technology leader for Europe\u2019s digital and green transition<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study highlights that the park\u2019s specialisation in cutting-edge industries (such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, microelectronics, software, renewable energy, or biotechnology) is helping position M\u00e1laga and Andalusia as leading technology hubs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this regard, the minister stated that \u201cspecialisation in cutting-edge industries positions M\u00e1laga and Andalusia as leading technology hubs at a key moment for Europe\u2019s digital and green transition.\u201d She also reminded that<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imec-int.com\/en\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">imec\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> arrival \u201cwill make Spain a world leader in microchip research and will be a true revolution for our region.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Espa\u00f1a concluded that M\u00e1laga TechPark \u201cis a story of collective success,\u201d the result of the shared effort of companies, institutions, and professionals, reaffirming the Andalusian government\u2019s commitment to its
