The organisation aims to reach 2,000 participants during the final week<\/strong><\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M\u00e1laga TechPark<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will host next Sunday, 25 January, starting at 10 a.m., the fourth edition of \u201cM\u00e1laga, Up and Running Against Cancer\u201d, the Business Race held in support of the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.contraelcancer.es\/es\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in M\u00e1laga. This initiative reinforces the park\u2019s role as an ecosystem where innovation, business activity and people\u2019s wellbeing go hand in hand. All registration proceeds will be allocated to funding oncologic research projects and to maintaining the programmes and services that the association provides free of charge to cancer patients and their families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These services include psychological support, social worker assistance, physiotherapy, speech therapy and nutrition services, physical exercise workshops, as well as the residential apartments for oncologic patients who need to travel to M\u00e1laga to undergo treatment. Together, these initiatives aim to provide comprehensive support, addressing both the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The press conference was attended by Carmen Litr\u00e1n, Provincial Manager of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in M\u00e1laga; Felipe Romera, CEO of M\u00e1laga TechPark; Mar Torres, Councillor for Citizen Participation, Migration, External Action, Development Cooperation, Transparency and Good Governance, and Head of the Campanillas District; and Franck Daniel Le\u00f3n Guenerie, Project Manager of Internal Transformation at Vodafone Business, the event\u2019s main sponsor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Felipe Romera, CEO of M\u00e1laga TechPark, highlighted that \u201cinitiatives such as \u2018Up and Running Against Cancer\u2019 reflect the community model we promote at the park: an innovative and competitive environment that is also deeply committed to people, their wellbeing and quality of life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On behalf of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, its M\u00e1laga manager, Carmen Litr\u00e1n, thanked the City Council, its Sports Department, and the Regional Government of Andalusia for their support through M\u00e1laga TechPark, and underlined the Association\u2019s objectives for this year. \u201cThe Up and Running Against Cancer race is once again a major meeting point for solidarity and community commitment in M\u00e1laga. At the Spanish Association Against Cancer, we work every day to reach more people, strengthening prevention, supporting patients and their families, and promoting research. That is why we would like to especially thank M\u00e1laga TechPark, M\u00e1laga\u2019s City Council and all the sponsoring companies, whose support allows this initiative to keep growing year after year. We invite all citizens to take part because every step counts and, together, we move towards our shared goal of reaching a 70% of cancer survival rate by 2030.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For another year, the race reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and is once again aligned with the City Council\u2019s \u201cMalaga, c\u00f3mo te quiero!?\u201d programme. The event is set within an environment designed to encourage healthy habits, responsible mobility and coexistence, promoting environmentally responsible decision-making and the active participation of citizens, businesses, and associations to ensure the event is as sustainable as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the collaboration of M\u00e1laga City Council, the race is sponsored by Vodafone Business as the main sponsor, along with M\u00e1laga TechPark companies such as Opplus, Iris Global and EY GDS as silver sponsors, together with the company Mi Colch\u00f3n. Alquimia and Caser take part as bronze sponsors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Race route and additional activities<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event will also include a pre-race warm-up session for participants led by professionals from David Lloyd gym. For younger participants, a special area with face painting and children\u2019s entertainment will be set up, managed by a team of educators who will organise games and activities, ensuring a fun space for families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last edition brought together more than 800 participants along the route through M\u00e1laga TechPark. With just one week remaining before the registrations close, this year\u2019s success is already guaranteed, with 1,750 people registered to date, consolidating the race as one of the park\u2019s flagship charitable events. The organisation\u2019s goal for this final week is to reach the maximum of 2,000 participants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a new feature this year, the race will offer three different routes. The first is a competitive 10-kilometre race, with trophies awarded to the top three finishers in both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s categories. First-place finishers in each category will also receive a Viceroy watch, donated by the jeweller Joyer\u00eda Luj\u00e1n. The top three in the men\u2019s category will receive a basket of avocados and mangoes from the company Sigfrido, while the top three in the women\u2019s category will be awarded a set of cosmetic products from Silvia Moreno. The second route is a non-timed 5-kilometre race aimed at families and participants who prefer not to compete. The third one is a 100-metre race for children who also wish to take part and enjoy a starring role for the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The route, designed specifically for the occasion, will start and finish at Plaza Alei within M\u00e1laga TechPark and will run through the park\u2019s streets. Registrations can be completed via the official link up to one day before the event or until the full capacity is reached.
