In total, more than 600 girls have taken part in the event since its launch in 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event was once again organised by Oracle Spain, the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of M\u00e1laga,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pta.es\/en\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M\u00e1laga TechPark<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and \u201cIngeniera Soy\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During this edition, the girls took part in various workshops divided by age group (between 6 and 16 years old), where they experienced first-hand what it would be like to pursue an academic and professional career in science and technology, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Throughout the workshops, instructors guided the participants through their first steps in programming, from developing programmable robots to creating video games. The aim was to bring them closer to the day-to-day reality of these professions and help them imagine their future in this field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, Oracle and the Faculty of Computer Science organised a talk for parents, offering an up-to-date overview of the technology sector and its wide range of career opportunities. The session focused on the diversity of paths that can lead to a career in technology and highlighted that there is no single academic route into the sector. It also stressed the importance of supporting girls in exploring their interests, fostering their curiosity and encouraging their development, regardless of the path they choose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The speakers participating in this motivational session included Manuel Enciso, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science; and, representing Oracle, Sofia Schneider, Director of the Oracle M\u00e1laga Office; Alessia Stasi, Director of Business Development; and Dana Daboosh, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Sales Representative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This initiative seeks to improve the representation of women in STEM, contributing to greater gender balance in technology-related professions. At the local level, Oracle continues to promote various initiatives aimed at fostering diversity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oracle4Girls was launched in 2017 with the aim of inspiring girls to consider studying technology-related disciplines. The programme is based on practical workshops aimed at girls aged between 4 and 16.
