The company announces the opening of a new laboratory specialised in cybersecurity evaluation and certification for semiconductors and digital products in Málaga
DEKRA Opens a New Cybersecurity Evaluation Laboratory for Semiconductors and Digital Products in Málaga TechPark. This corporate milestone strengthens DEKRA’s position as a leading provider of testing, evaluation, and certification of embedded systems and new technologies. In this way, the company expands and enhances its capacity to offer Digital Trust services to meet the growing global demand for security and cybersecurity solutions in an increasingly connected environment.
The laboratory will serve as a center of reference and excellence, reinforcing Málaga and Andalusia’s position as a national and international benchmark for services aimed at manufacturers of digital products and embedded systems.
The facilities initially have a team of 40 professionals, and the company expects to exceed 100 employees within the next five years, increasing its capacity to address current and future challenges in cybersecurity, AI and functional safety in an increasingly connected and exposed world.
“Ensuring security and digital trust at all stages of the semiconductor lifecycle is essential, as vulnerabilities may arrive at any point during its production, supply or use,” says Peter Laursen, Chief Operating Officer at DEKRA. “With the opening of a laboratory in Málaga dedicated to evaluating semiconductor cybersecurity, DEKRA facilitates customer innovation while maintaining digital trust, since it’s not only about protecting a product, but about contributing to protect the entire ecosystem of the digitalised world we live in.”
