1990
APRIL PTA’S MANAGEMENT COMPANY FOUNDED
“Promoting innovation and research was the basic objective that motivated the creation of the PTA and has defined its evolution ever since”.
Supported by the Andalusian Regional Government and Málaga Municipal Council.
1992
PTA OPENS
The PTA was opened on 9 December 1992 by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, with eight companies and 130 employees at that point. Construction had started four years earlier, in December 1988.
1994
THE UNIVERSITY OF MÁLAGA COMES TO PTA
The arrival of the Research Results Transfer Office (RRTO) in 1994 would plant the seed for collaborations and joint initiatives between the University of Malaga and the PTA, gaining increasing momentum ever since.
1995
IASP IS ESTABLISHED AT PTA
The International Association of Science Parks (IASP) sets up its global headquarters at the PTA.
1998
APTE SETS UP AT PTA
The Spanish Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE) opens its head office in the PTA.
2002
PRINCE FELIPE VISITS PTA
The then crown Prince Felipe visited the PTA’s facilities during a meeting between PTA business owners and representatives of Andalusian society.
2007
UNICAJA: PTA SHAREHOLDER
Unicaja becomes a shareholder.
2009
THE UNIVERSITY OF MÁLAGA JOINS THE PTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The University of Málaga becomes a PTA shareholder.
2012
PTA CELEBRATES 20 YEARS AND TOTALS 600 COMPANIES
We followed celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2012 by breaking a record in early 2013: reaching 600 companies with sites at the PTA.
2015
THE GREEN RAY OPENS ITS DOORS
The reason behind the Green Ray building, illustrating the collaboration between the PTA and UMA (the University of Málaga), was the need to transfer academic knowledge to the business world, and to support entrepreneurs.
2016
CELEBRATING 25 YEARS
We have been growing together for the last 25 years and our sights are now set on the challenges of the 25 ahead.
2020
MALAGA TECHPARK
The new brand Málaga TechPark ir born, aims to improve its international projection as well as its link with the city.
