Málaga TechPark Execs Women Leadership, a network of female leaders within Málaga TechPark Execs, which brings together the 30 leading companies in Málaga’s innovation ecosystem, has established itself as a benchmark initiative for promoting female leadership within the innovation landscape.
Created in May 2024, the network’s mission is to encourage inclusive leadership, promote equal opportunities for professional development, and support career progression by creating spaces for collaboration, learning, and the visibility of female talent.
Today, the initiative brings together more than 50 professionals from member organisations of the Málaga TechPark Club, forming a diverse community of female executives that acts as a network for support, professional growth and knowledge sharing.
One of its standout initiatives is the Mentoring Programme, which has now completed two editions. Through this programme, more than 50 professionals from some of the leading companies in Málaga’s innovation ecosystem have received guidance and support in their professional development, strengthening knowledge transfer between experienced executives and the next generation of female leaders in the sector.
The network also organises the “Voices that Inspire” series, a forum that brings together leading figures from the business and technology sector. Until now, the programme has included participation from leading figures such as María Marced, a renowned telecommunications engineer, former President of TSMC Europe and current Chair of the Industry Advisory Group (IAG) for the European semiconductor industry, and Mercedes Macías, VP Finance, EMEA Applications at Oracle. Preparations are already underway for the next edition, scheduled for autumn 2026.
The network’s activities are complemented by volunteering initiatives, purpose-driven networking events, leadership and professional development programmes, as well as initiatives to raise the visibility of female talent and collaborations with companies and universities. Together, these efforts aim to encourage STEM careers and promote more inclusive workplaces.
On 25 June, Málaga TechPark Execs Women Leadership celebrated its anniversary with a special event that brought together members of the network. The event combined the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Mentoring Programme with a masterclass delivered by Gema Gómez Román, Director at Talengo, followed by a networking session designed to strengthen connections between professionals in the community.
“Málaga TechPark Execs Women Leadership was created with the ambition of becoming a genuine driver of female talent within the business, technology and innovation ecosystem. In a very short time, we have seen how collaboration between senior executives, companies and professionals generates a tangible impact on the development of female leadership. Our goal is to continue expanding this community, inspiring new generations and consolidating a leading network for female leadership within our innovation ecosystem,” said Lourdes Cruz, Business Development & Investment Promotion Director at the Andalusia Technology Park (PTA) and coordinator of the initiative.
“This network promotes collaboration among female leaders as a key driver for developing STEM talent. Sharing experience, mentoring future generations and creating role models are essential to strengthening the technology ecosystem and accelerating the inclusion of female talent in the sector,” added Sofía Schneider, Chief Operating Officer South at Oracle, Málaga Site Leader, and coordinator of the initiative.
With this anniversary, the initiative reaffirms its commitment to promoting female talent in the technology sector and further consolidates its position as a leading network within Málaga TechPark’s innovation ecosystem.
