The kick-off meeting took place at the School of Industrial Engineering of the University of Málaga and marked the official start of the project
Málaga TechPark has taken part in the kick-off meeting of the European project Agrobotics Di-Twins, an event that gathered the members of the consortium in Málaga.
This project, co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe programme, aims to create an innovative ecosystem integrating robotics, artificial intelligence and digital twins in agriculture, thus contributing to the transition towards Agriculture 5.0: more sustainable, efficient, and circular.
An international consortium for agricultural innovation
The meeting brought together partners from Spain, France, and Portugal, including universities, technology parks, business associations, and private companies.
The consortium is coordinated by the University of Málaga and includes the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV), Miguel Hernández University of Elche, University of Huelva, Université de Limoges, University of Algarve, Málaga TechPark, Data CoLab, NERA Algarve, Aquitaine Robotics, OSFARM, FI Group, and ELATEC.
Associated partners are Cluster Machinisme (France), ASAJA Málaga (Spain), and AlgarOrange (Portugal).
First lines of action
During the Málaga meeting, the project roadmap was presented, covering the next 36 months, along with the first activities to be implemented:
- Developing a map of critical agricultural processes where robotics can reduce environmental impact.
- Designing and validating digital twin-based pilot programmes for agricultural SMEs.
- Launching transnational Living Labs, collaborative spaces where farmers, researchers, and companies will co-create innovative solutions.
- Building a sustainable Agriculture 5.0 ecosystem in the SUDOE region that goes beyond the project itself.
Towards a more innovative and collaborative agriculture
The Málaga kick-off meeting not only marked the start of a European initiative, but also the beginning of a new stage of collaboration between researchers, companies, and farmers.
For Málaga TechPark, participating in Agrobotics Di-Twins means strengthening its role as a connector between research and business, promoting the transfer of knowledge and technology to generate a real impact on the agri-food sector.
This joint effort will help transform agricultural challenges into opportunities for innovation, sustainability, and economic development in the SUDOE region.
