  • Boosting Málaga’s tech ecosystem with specialized programs in AI and microelectronics, women’s mentoring, shared mobility, and cultural collaborations with city institutions

The Málaga TechPark Executives Club (Exec) held its September quarterly meeting, officially launching a wide range of initiatives planned for the upcoming term.

The session, chaired by Antonio Gómez-Guillamón, CEO and co-founder of Aertec, brought together representatives from companies, universities, and organizations across the innovation ecosystem. It provided an opportunity to review the progress of different working groups and to announce new projects that will shape the roadmap for the coming months.

“This Club is a space of genuine cooperation between businesses, institutions, and society, driving the sustainable and innovative growth of the park and the city,” highlighted Gómez-Guillamón during the session.

Among the most notable actions, the Talent Group, coordinated by Toni De La Prieta (Accenture), presented the second edition of the EspecializaTech project, which will offer 600 hours of Java training starting in October. New initiatives in data, artificial intelligence, and microelectronics are also in development in collaboration with imec

The Club further consolidated its alliance with the University of Málaga (UMA) through the UMA InnTech Office, headquartered at Málaga TechPark. Under the innTech・4・UMA brand, the initiative brings together the technopark, its companies, and the university.

Key programs include the Online Classroom and the AI Research Capabilities Catalogue, which connects more than 20 research groups and hundreds of ongoing contracts.

Under the coordination of Pablo Alifano (Talan), the Club announced the Málaga TechPark Execs Award 2025, which will recognize the member company that has excelled most in collaboration, innovation, talent attraction, sustainability, diversity, and local impact.

Applications are open until October 1st, with the award ceremony scheduled for December at a special event.

Málaga TechPark Conecta

Another major highlight was the launch of the Málaga TechPark Conecta app, designed to promote shared mobility across the park.

The tool is expected to cut CO₂ emissions by up to 4,000 tons per year and reduce private vehicle use by 30%, strengthening community ties among ecosystem professionals. The beta phase begins this month, with full rollout planned by 2026.

The Women’s Leadership Group, coordinated by Sofía Schneider (Oracle), announced new mentoring editions and collaborations with organizations such as the Margarita Salas Foundation, Red Cross, and Ronald McDonald House.

It will also continue the international “Voices that Inspire” program, alongside networking activities and joint after-work events with other tech parks.

Energy Efficiency

The Sustainability Group, led by Pedro Luque (TDK Electronics), continues to drive projects in energy efficiency, self-consumption, and carbon footprint reduction.

A series of meetings are planned, starting in September at DEKRA’s facilities, to share leading business sustainability practices.

On the cultural front, the Club is strengthening partnerships with Teatro del Soho, Carmen Thyssen Museum, La Concepción Botanical Garden, and Starlite Festival, while preparing new activities with the Glass Museum and the English Cemetery.

The Senior Group, coordinated by Carlos Bentabol, focuses on maintaining ties with former PTA executives and reinforcing their role as mentors to startups. In October, it will host the talk “The First of the PTA” to highlight the experience and legacy of the park’s pioneers.
