CISOs from leading companies in key sectors in Panama, such as financial services and critical infrastructures, expressed particular interest in Atlantis SOC, the Security Operations Centre that manages the region’s most advanced MDR service with AI integration
Committed to cybersecurity in Panama’s key sectors to put their experts’ knowledge at the service of organisations and professionals, Sofistic introduced to the clients its new office in Midtown building on 74th Street in the San Francisco District of Panama City. The successful opening event was attended by technology managers and vice presidents and CISOs from leading companies in the financial, retail and critical infrastructure sectors, such as Global Bank, Banistmo, Motta Group and Telered, among others. In this step, Group Cuatroochenta’s leading cybersecurity company further consolidates its presence in the country after more than 15 years of operations.
The facilities that most interest sparked among attendees were those of the new Security Operations Centre, Atlantis SOC. With 20 workstations for its specialised technicians, Atlantis SOC offers a top-tier Manage Detection and Response (MDR) service to monitor and swiftly address clients’ security incidents, thanks to the 24/7 coverage ensured by its equivalent teams in Spain and Colombia, relying on state-of-the-art AI-driven solutions.
“This new office is a natural step within Sofistic’s expansion strategy in the region. Panama was our first operation and it has now become our largest, strengthening our presence and leadership. This milestone reaffirms our commitment to both the country and the region to offer a closer, faster and stronger service,” highlighted Janithza Marcucci, Sofistic’s Regional Manager in Latin America. She attended the event alongside Sofistic’s CEO, Mar López; company founder and current Cuatroochenta’s CIO, Ángel López; Cuatroochenta’s CEO, Alfredo R. Cebrián; and Chairman of the tech group’s Board of Directors, Vicente Montesinos.
“Thanks to our clients”
Both Mar López and Ángel López took the opportunity to thank their clients for the trust they have placed in the company since Sofistic began operations in Panama in 2014, as well as for the effort and involvement demonstrated by the entire team of the Panama-based company, now made up of more than 45 professionals. “Thanks to the clients who have trusted us throughout these years, Sofistic has been able to achieve this level of excellence in Panama,” noted Mar López. Cebrián and Montesinos highlighted the tech group’s strong and forward-looking commitment to cybersecurity and to Panama, where the company has been listed on the Spanish stock market segment for start-up companies since 2020 (BME Growth), as a key factor in its steady growth.
