A Málaga TechPark delegation attends the presentation of ParcBit’s new Business and Talent Attraction and Retention Plan
Málaga TechPark has taken part in a working meeting held at ParcBit involving the Bit Foundation (the managing body of the Balearic Islands’ technology park) and Felipe Romera, president of the Association of Science and Technology Parks in Spain (APTE) and director of Málaga TechPark. The meeting was held within the framework of the strategic twinning agreement between the two technology parks.
The aim of the meeting was to strengthen interregional cooperation and promote the exchange of best practices in key areas such as innovation, knowledge transfer, infrastructure management, and the attraction of businesses and talent.
Representing the Bit Foundation were its vice-president, Sebastián González; regional representatives in Ibiza and Menorca, Daniel Juan and Llorenç Cardona; the head of the R&D Projects Department, Inmaculada Salamanca; the head of Infrastructure and Maintenance, Miguel Guasp; and the head of Legal Affairs, Marina Anguera. Málaga TechPark was represented by its director of Innovation and Communication, Natalia Pérez, along with members of its infrastructure and recruitment teams.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to knowledge transfer processes, mechanisms to strengthen the visibility and positioning of technology parks, and methodologies designed to promote business cooperation and the dissemination of R&D&I projects. In terms of management and infrastructure, common operational practices were analysed, together with strategies to optimise service provision, improve management efficiency, and ensure the sustainability and quality of technology spaces.
This professional meeting is part of the collaboration agreement signed by Málaga TechPark and ParcBit in May 2025, initially valid for two years and extendable thereafter. The agreement reinforces an alliance designed to connect leading innovation ecosystems, share knowledge, and generate high-impact opportunities for both companies and talent.
The meeting took place at the same time as the presentation of ParcBit’s Business and Talent Attraction and Retention Plan, promoted by the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands. The plan serves as a roadmap positioning the park as a leading innovation hub in the islands and featured institutional participation from the regional government.
Through initiatives such as this, Málaga TechPark strengthens its role as an active player in the development of solid innovation networks based on interregional cooperation, knowledge transfer, and the development of competitive and sustainable technology ecosystems.
In this sense, Málaga TechPark has also consolidated its position as a key economic driver for the province of Málaga and for Andalusia as a whole. The park is home to more than 715 companies, employing nearly 28,000 people, and closed 2024 with record revenues of €4,181 million, representing a 21% increase year on year.
According to a recent study, Málaga TechPark generates a combined direct and indirect impact of €4,836.31 million on Andalusia’s GDP, equivalent to 2.33% of the regional total. Its impact is even more significant at the provincial level (10.68%) and within the city of Málaga (34.97%).
