- Companies, universities, and institutions consolidate strategic synergies to promote innovation, technology transfer, and the attraction of highly skilled talent in Antequera and its surrounding area
Málaga TechPark and the city of Antequera have reinforced their commitment to driving technological development in the province following the informative breakfast held on Tuesday under the title “Málaga TechPark – Antequera City Council: A Strategic Alliance for the Future”. The event took place at the Antequera Hills Hotel and brought together institutional, business, and academic leaders.
The event opened with remarks by Jorge Paradela, Regional Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Andalusian Government, followed by an institutional welcome from Antequera Mayor Manuel Barón. The closing address was delivered by Antonio García Acedo, Regional Delegate for Economy and Industry in Málaga.
Throughout the meeting, speakers highlighted the importance of creating an innovation ecosystem that is connected, competitive and open to business projects. In this context, Felipe Romera, director of Málaga TechPark, stressed that the alliance with Antequera makes it possible to generate real synergies between companies, universities, and research centres, facilitating technology transfer and the mobility of highly qualified talent.
The programme featured contributions from mentors such as Maite Palomino (GROUPE IDEC INTERNATIONAL), Rocío Muñoz Maestre (Andalucía TRADE), Ezequiel Navarro (INNOVA IRV Foundation), Fali Godoy Rubio (ETSIT-UMA) and Javier López (UMA innTech), who all underlined how public-private cooperation enhances competitiveness, innovation and the attraction of investment.
The meeting further strengthened Málaga TechPark’s strategy of extending its innovation ecosystem beyond its geographical boundaries by connecting its technology hub with the industrial and logistic potential of Antequera’s Puerto Seco. This collaboration will enable companies to access knowledge and talent networks, as well as strategic projects in fields such as artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, aerospace, and FoodTech.
