- BIC Euronova, Málaga’s European Business Innovation Centre, has successfully accelerated 17 business projects through the Ciberemprende programme
Málaga’s European Business Innovation Centre, BIC Euronova, headquartered at Málaga TechPark, in collaboration with the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), an organisation under the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, has successfully concluded the latest edition of the Ciberemprende programme. The initiative aims to foster innovation and digital security, encouraging the creation of new businesses.
The winning project, Eventwall, is a platform for local events that connects groups with shared interests. In second place, project Seritra is a medical device that converts type A and B blood into universal type O blood. The third-place winner was project Safe, a videogame about cybersecurity designed for children aged 10 to 12, intended for use in schools.
The five-week incubation, training and mentoring programme began at the end of October, with two sessions per week. In addition, the projects received personalised consultancy hours covering legal, tax management/counsel, employment, and accounting matters, as well as guidance from an expert mentor.
Participant business ideas were required to meet at least one of the following criteria: include a digital component, with cybersecurity as a relevant aspect, offer innovative products or services, or operate in areas where cybersecurity is essential (online sales, etc.) and must ensure safe digital environments for their clients.
These projects will also have the opportunity to benefit from future calls of the acceleration programme, provided that the ideas are implemented through the creation of a company.

As the programme’s collaborative partner, BIC Euronova offers acceleration programmes, talks, workshops, events, and incubation services to participants. This joint effort enables participants to gain a solid foundation in cybersecurity, essential for operating safely in today’s digital environment. Notably, Spain ranks third worldwide in cyberthreat detections, accounting for 6% of global incidents, a figure close to those reported for Japan and Poland.
