- The technology park led the largest international mission in its history at the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, with participants from Europe, Africa and the United States
Málaga TechPark actively participated in Transfiere 2026, the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, which celebrated its 15th edition from 24 to 26 February at the Trade Fairs and Congress Centre of Málaga. This presence consolidated its position as a leading technology hub in Southern Europe, reinforced its international influence within the innovation ecosystem, and belongs to a sustained global strategy that has enabled the park to reach 211 cities across 77 countries on five continents through collaboration networks, European projects and internationalisation initiatives.
This year’s edition, which brought together more than 600 national and international organisations in the field of R&D and Innovation, featured Málaga TechPark’s own stand in the exhibition area. From this space, the park showcased its public-private partnership model, its strengths in high value-added technologies, and a global network of strategic alliances connecting Europe, Africa and the Americas.
As part of this edition, the park led the largest international mission in its history, with a delegation of 100 representatives from Portugal, France, Kenya, Morocco, Belgium, the United States, Italy, Moldova, the Netherlands and Germany. This strong international presence reinforced the global dimension of the forum and Málaga’s role as a hub connecting innovation ecosystems across continents.
Among the international networks and organisations participating alongside Málaga TechPark were the Portuguese Association of Science and Technology Parks, the Iberian Open Innovation Network, the European Institute of Technology and the European consortia Agrobotics-Ditiwns and DIBEST. The delegation was further strengthened by representatives from technology parks, universities, innovation centres, business associations and leading international companies.
From Portugal, participating organisations included Algarve STP, Regia Douro Park, TecParques, TagusValley, the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, the Polytechnic University of Setúbal, Data CoLAB and NERA – Associação Empresarial da Região do Algarve. France was represented by Aquitaine Robotics and EM Normandie Business School, while Bridge Tech Global – Africa and Konza Technopolis were attending from Kenya.
The Moroccan delegation included the University of Hassan II and CMC Casablanca-Settat. From the United States, specifically New York, the company Mayer Brown participated, joined by the European Institute of Technology from Belgium and ENTOPAN from Italy.
These international relationships were complemented by strategic collaborations beyond Europe, such as the recent agreement signed with the Wuhan Institute of Industrial Innovation & Development (China) to strengthen cooperation in innovation, applied research and technological development, with a particular focus on training, talent and joint science-technology initiatives. In addition, the park has recently welcomed Japanese technology-sector delegations, including representatives from GMO Cybersecurity by Ierae, further consolidating ties with Asia and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Málaga TechPark’s participation in Transfiere 2026 is part of its roadmap to consolidate its position as a hub for microelectronics and advanced technologies in Southern Europe. In this context, the park is promoting initiatives aimed at attracting foreign investment, generating qualified leads and the establishment of high-impact technology projects.
During the forum, the Málaga TechPark team held B2B meetings with international delegations, European networks and key stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem, with the aim of strengthening international partnerships, fostering European collaborative projects, attracting investment and high value-added companies, and positioning Málaga as a leading destination for global technology talent.
