- Spanish and Portuguese tourism companies share experiences and explore collaboration opportunities within the framework of the European project
Málaga TechPark, together with CRIA — the Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Unit of the University of Algarve — and NERA — the Business Association of the Algarve Region — organised the Iberian Business Meeting of the European project DIBEST – Digital Innovation for Blue Enterprises and Social Tourism, of which it is a partner, held on 4 and 5 May 2026 in the Algarve region (Portugal).
The event brought together Spanish and Portuguese companies from the tourism sector, along with organisations and stakeholders linked to the blue tourism ecosystem, with the aim of promoting cross-border cooperation, knowledge exchange and the creation of new collaboration opportunities.
Representing Spain, three micro-enterprises from the tourism sector participated, accompanied by the Maritime-Marine Cluster of Andalusia, in a setting designed to share experiences, present innovative solutions and advance the digitalisation of the sector.
A space for business exchange and innovation
The main session, held at the facilities of the Division of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer of the University of Algarve in Faro, included presentations of the DIBEST project results in the Algarve, Andalusia and Galicia, followed by company presentations showcasing their projects and innovative proposals.
In addition, various stakeholders from the tourism sector presented their initiatives and lines of work, creating a favourable environment for dialogue and the identification of synergies between companies, public entities and ecosystem actors.
The programme also featured networking opportunities, fostering direct interaction among participants, strengthening professional relationships and cross-border cooperation.
The Iberian DIBEST Business Meeting forms part of the project’s activities aimed at strengthening the blue tourism ecosystem in the Atlantic area, promoting digitalisation, sustainability and cooperation between European regions.
