Málaga TechPark welcomes senior officials responsible for Economic Promotion and Strategic Projects from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa to advance joint high-impact initiatives in key areas such as cybersecurity and quantum computing
Málaga TechPark welcomed an institutional delegation from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa to its headquarters for a working meeting aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration and fostering synergies between the two innovation ecosystems. The visit, led by Unai Andueza Iraeta, Deputy for Economic Promotion and Strategic Projects, and Koldo Peciña Txintxurreta, Director General for Strategic Projects at the Provincial Council, focused on identifying opportunities to develop high-value joint technology projects in strategic fields including cybersecurity and quantum computing.
The meeting brought together representatives from Málaga’s and Spain’s wider innovation ecosystem. The delegation was welcomed by Felipe Romera, General Director of Málaga TechPark; Lourdes Cruz Ochotorena, Business Development Director; and Natalia Pérez, Director of Communications and Institutional Relations. They were joined by Javier López, Vice-Rector for Technological Innovation and Strategic Projects at the University of Málaga and Director of UMA innTech, the University’s innovation office that propels knowledge transfer and the development of collaborative innovation projects between the University of Málaga and Málaga TechPark. Also participating was Soledad Díaz, Managing Director of the Spanish Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE), whose headquarters are located at Málaga TechPark.
Throughout the meeting, participants examined the challenges facing a number of strategic and disruptive technologies that are expected to shape the future of the industry and its global competitiveness. Particular attention was given to advanced cybersecurity, with contributions from expert Anders Olof Möller, Senior Cybersecurity Specialist and R&D Manager at the multinational company DEKRA, as well as to the growing deployment of quantum computing technologies.
Quantum computing technologies were a central focus of the discussions, with Iraia Ibarzabal, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Multiverse Computing, presenting her company’s vision and business model within this emerging sector. Through initiatives such as this, Málaga TechPark continues to strengthen its role as a space connecting science, business and investment, supporting the development of deep-tech projects and accelerating knowledge transfer.
