DEKRA has opened its Knowledge Center in Málaga. Located in Málaga TechPark, this space is designed to drive training, talent development, and to attract skilled professionals, in order to Málaga as a strategic hub for innovation and technology for the company.
The new center will play a key role in the employability of the region by offering continuous training to DEKRA employees to enhance their skills and capabilities. Additionally, it will collaborate with universities, vocational training centers, and educational institutions to prepare young talent for the challenges of the technological labour market, providing them with opportunities to develop in highly specialized sectors such as automotive, industrial, and technology.
The inauguration was attended by top managers from DEKRA at both national and international levels, who showcased the facilities and shared details about the goals and scope of this ambitious project. Alongside them, representatives from the Regional Government of Andalusia and the City Council of Málaga highlighted the importance of this initiative for the region’s economic and technological fabric.
A Step Forward for DEKRA’s Journey in Málaga
Since its arrival in Málaga in 2015, DEKRA has strengthened its commitment to the Andalusian region with numerous key projects. Some of the most notable milestones include:
- The acquisition of AT4 Wireless in 2015, which marked the beginning of its commitment to Andalusia.
- The creation of the first 5G communications testing and certification center for vehicles in Europe, in collaboration with Telefónica in 2019.
- The establishment of the most advanced R&D in Southern Europe laboratory for connected driving in 2020, also in collaboration with Telefónica.
- The establishment of a Global IT Hub in 2021, strengthening Málaga’s strategic role in DEKRA’s operations.
In addition to these projects, the company has demonstrated its commitment through numerous workshops and events focused on employability and skill development, such as its participation in Málaga’s TALENTLAB, and on critical topics for the tech sector, like the recent Cybersecurity in Automotive and Car Hacking sessions held in collaboration with CESVIMAP and the University of Málaga.
