Indra Group has opened today its new advanced avionics and mission computers centre at Málaga TechPark, aiming to meet the highest standards in the production of advanced electronics and embedded avionics for aerial, naval and land platforms. The new facilities will employ around 700 Indra Group professionals in the Andalusian city.
The new centre, which will receive an investment of more than €40 million over the next five years, features more than 3,200 square metres dedicated to production facilities, electronics laboratories, and engineering design offices.
It includes a state-of-the-art electronics and mechanical manufacturing line equipped with cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies. In addition, the new centre houses 15 electronics laboratories designed to boost research and development in this field. Málaga is emerging as one of the defence industry hubs that Indra Group is developing in Spain, enabling the company to generate highly skilled employment and reinforce its local industrial footprint.
The opening ceremony was attended by Indra Group Executive Chairman Ángel Escribano; Group CEO José Vicente de los Mozos; and Clue Technologies CEO Ignacio Fernández Montes; who presented the new facilities to Málaga Mayor Francisco de la Torre and to the Regional Government of Andalusia’s Councillor for Industry, Energy and Mining, Jorge Paradela, among other authorities.

With this new centre in Málaga, we are boosting innovation in a key area for these industries, such as the development of electronic systems and embedded computing,” highlighted Indra Group Executive Chairman Ángel Escribano.
Meanwhile, Indra Group CEO José Vicente de los Mozos stressed that “clients are demanding greater processing capacity to develop more powerful software and deploy artificial intelligence, which is why we must maintain our commitment to disruptive and high-impact emerging technologies. Through our industrial plan, we are increasing our capacity to produce the core technologies that nourish major systems and platforms and are essential to achieving true technological sovereignty.”
Málaga Mayor Francisco de la Torre welcomed the opening of this new centre, which is set to become a European benchmark and will strengthen Málaga’s international profile as a city firmly committed to innovation as a driver of development, talent acquisition, and job creation, in line with its strategic plan.
The Regional Government of Andalusia’s Councillor for Industry, Energy and Mining, Jorge Paradela, highlighted that these facilities “represent a milestone in Indra’s ambitious growth strategy in Andalusia.” He also recalled the company’s plan to at least double its activity in the region through the so-called ‘Plan Andalucía’, with an expected investment of €80 million by 2027 and the creation of more than 500 skilled jobs, “confirming Indra’s role as a driving force within our technological ecosystem.”
Integrated Modular Avionics and New Computing Technologies
The new centre is a benchmark in integrated modular technology and in the deployment of advanced computing and intelligent communications technologies in the aerospace and defence sector. Its innovations are already in service at some of the world’s most significant airport aprons.
The facilities will serve as the headquarters of Clue Technologies, a Málaga-based company acquired by Indra Group in 2024 and one of the few European companies specialising in the development of new computing technologies for innovative intelligent systems such as edge computing, a strategic and critical area for new European defence programmes.
In addition, the centre focuses on technological research, as well as the development and manufacturing of avionics computers for both flight and mission systems. It supplies avionics computers for major national and European programmes, such as Eurodrone, Sirtap, C295, A400M, Eurofighter LTE, Tigre MkIII and H160M.
The centre is also involved in many R&D initiatives, notably through its participation in technology projects in the computing and electronics fields under the Aeronautical Technology Programme (PTA) and CDTI Missions, the European Defence Fund (EDF), and Horizon Europe’s Key Digital Technologies (KDT) Joint Undertaking.
