BIC Euronova hosts the international workshop for the Erasmus+ project “BeyondWheels”, led by CARPOACE EUROPE, which seeks to transform employment opportunities for people with motor disabilitie
BIC Euronova, the European Business and Innovation Centre of Málaga in Málaga TechPark, held the international workshop for European project ‘BeyondWheels’, an initiative outlined in the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, and led by Málaga-based company, CarpoAce Europe.
The meeting, coordinated by CARPOACE EUROPE, which is based in BIC Euronova, brought together strategic partners from Italy and North Macedonia to help define the key elements of a new methodology for workforce inclusion.
Under the title ‘BeyondWheels: A method for helping people with motor disabilities develop career pathways aligned with their personal aspirations and potential’, the project proposes a disruptive approach: putting the ambitions and capabilities of the individual at the centre of their professional development.
Three days of transnational cooperation
Throughout three intensive working sessions, the consortium partners – SOLIS SRLS (Italy) and Poraka Nova (North Macedonia) – collaborated closely with the CARPOACE EUROPE team to achieve the final design.
The workshop focused on method validation, refining the structure of the BW Method Guide and the online educational platform, tools that will be fundamental in the training of technicians as well as beneficiaries. Another focal point was technical training, with the consortium partners receiving training in the use of assistive technologies and digital tools designed for improving the autonomy and participation of people with motor disabilities. The team also laid the groundwork for the next critical phases of the project: the Training of Trainers (ToT) and Training & Coaching sessions for the final beneficiaries.

The international event was supported by Sandra García Torres, Head of International Projects at BIC Euronova, who welcomed the international delegates. García highlighted the importance of BeyondWheels not just for its social impact, but for its close alignment with the social inclusion and innovation initiatives that BIC Euronova actively promotes, both within Málaga’s technology ecosystem and internationally, such as the development of smart mobility pilot projects within the framework of the European project, SME4 SMARTCITIES.
The project’s coordination team noted that “Málaga TechPark is the ideal setting for this type of international collaboration, where technology serves social innovation in order to provoke real social change.”
The BeyondWheels project
BeyondWheels was born out of the need for creating real and personalised employment alternatives for people with motor disabilities. Through a combination of coaching, strategic analysis and digital tools, the project seeks to empower adults so that their career paths aren’t based on their physical limitations, but on their talent and personal aspirations.
