Málaga TechPark and The Pool Marbella coworking space collaborate together

  • The objective is to consolidate a joint strategy for the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Málaga

Málaga TechPark and The Pool Marbella, a coworking and business hub, are now collaborating to consolidate an entrepreneurship ecosystem in Málaga. Several international investors take part in this space with the aim of promoting the technology companies in it.

One of the park’s goals is structuring the startups ecosystem in Málaga to consolidate a cooperative working environment. In fact, the park itself has become a hub for the creation of startups.

Dozens of startups are created in Málaga every year, many of them located in different support units for startups and incubators. Málaga TechPark is home to some of them and aims to promote a suitable environment to boost the startups’ growth with the help of different public and private entities that focus on fostering entrepreneurship, developing acceleration programs and activities, consulting, incubation and business creation. This has resulted in an active community of entrepreneurs.

Collaborations such as this one are therefore of utmost importance when achieving this objective, which is one of the park’s priorities.

The Pool Marbella

The Pool Marbella is located on the first floor of the shopping centre El Corte Inglés El Capricho, in the Bulevar Alfonso de Hohenlohe avenue. It was founded by seven businessmen (five of them are Swedish and two of them are Spanish): Fredrik Båge, Martin Wettergren, Johan Hedberg, Per Roman, Douglas Goullet, Christian Rasmusson and Thomas Ahlerup. It has several international investors as minority shareholders.

The Pool Marbella started operating in February 2023 with the help of independent international investors. The company is led by Douglas Gallet, founder partner and CEO.

With 24 offices, a workforce of 161 professionals and 2,200 square metres, the new coworking space is the first ‘tech-hub’ in Marbella with the main objective of providing a professional space for the creation of technology companies in the city.
