As part of the European Erasmus+ AgriFood4Future project, Málaga TechPark, CESUR (Association of Vocational Training Centres of Andalusia) and FEMAC (Cluster of Agricultural Machinery and Means of Production of Catalonia) held two workshops on 1 and 2 October, focused on innovation, sustainability and digital transformation in the agri-food industry.

The sessions brought together national and international experts and were held as part of Greencities 2025. The project also hosted an information stand that attracted many visitors from Spain and abroad, showcasing its objectives and ongoing initiatives.

Two days of dialogue and international collaboration

The workshops brought together representatives from companies, institutions, and associations in the agri-food sector.

Over the course of both sessions, participants exchanged experiences and best practices related to sustainable agri-food production, the efficient use of natural resources, technological innovation in agriculture, and the role of vocational education as a driver of transformation in the sector.

Discussions also explored shared challenges around sustainability, digitalisation and competitiveness, underlining the importance of stronger cooperation between companies, universities, technology centres and public institutions across Europe and Latin America.

The open and collaborative atmosphere of the sessions helped identify new synergies among different players in the agri-food ecosystem, as well as opportunities to develop smarter and more sustainable solutions that contribute to the sector’s green and digital transition.

The AgriFood4Future project and its impact

AgriFood4Future (AF4F) is a European Erasmus+ project designed to strengthen cooperation between vocational education and training (VET) and agri-food innovation, fostering the creation of sustainable and smart ecosystems across Europe.

The initiative promotes the development of Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) that drive the green and digital transition of the agri-food sector through collaboration among businesses, universities, research and technology centres, and public institutions.

AgriFood4Future at Greencities 2025

Alongside the workshops, the AgriFood4Future project was also present at Greencities 2025 with an information stand, at the Trade Fair and Congress Centre of Málaga (FYCMA), one of Spain’s leading events on urban sustainability and digital transformation.

The stand served as a meeting point to share the project’s goals and progress with professionals, institutions and companies interested in innovative, sustainable solutions for the future of the agri-food sector, enhancing the project’s international visibility and its connections with other technology ecosystems.
