- Málaga’s innovation ecosystem is exploring new avenues for international collaboration and high-impact projects, establishing itself as the leading technology hub for investment in southern Europe
Málaga TechPark continues to forge links with institutions around the world to foster a global ecosystem where collaboration shapes the future of technology. Against this backdrop of strong international presence, the park recently welcomed a delegation from the Malaysian Embassy in Spain. During the meeting, the Director of Technology Transfer and International Relations, Sonia Palomo, gave the delegation’s representatives, including the Malaysian Ambassador, Haznah Md Hashim, and Joseph Macias, a first-hand insight into the innovation ecosystem. This visit provided an opportunity to explore several areas of collaboration and strategic synergies, marking a key step towards consolidating the technopolis as a world-class technology hub for international investment and development.
Connecting high-tech ecosystems, Málaga TechPark has also opened its doors to global leaders from the Chinese city of Changzhou. The investment delegation, comprising Zhang Jinbiao, Hu Yanhong, Wang Yuxing, Pan Yichao and Yang Wenting, visited the Málaga headquarters to explore new joint synergies. Through a presentation by Sonia Palomo, the park’s innovation dynamics were highlighted and specific opportunities to drive highly impactful strategic projects were analysed. This keen interest from abroad reaffirms the park’s position as a unique environment that guarantees profitability, cutting-edge technology and a structured public-private partnership for international investors.
This appeal is underpinned by a solid economic and business foundation. Málaga TechPark currently hosts more than 700 companies, which generate an annual turnover in excess of 4.8 billion euros and employ more than 29,000 professionals. These figures underpin its position as the leading technology hub in southern Europe, a true hub connecting science, corporations and profitable investment that facilitates the inflow of foreign capital and the development of high value-added ecosystems.
Through these meetings at the highest level, the technology park demonstrates its ability to attract the attention of international leaders, operating under a comprehensive model where advanced business development coexists naturally with an environment designed to welcome global talent of the highest calibre. Against this backdrop, the institution maintains active links with innovation ecosystems in leading cities and technology hubs across Europe and the world, strengthening its undisputed role within a global innovation network.
