Málaga TechPark continues to grow its global innovation network by participating in the business mission to Morocco organised by Spain’s Science and Technology Parks Association (APTE) between 6 and 8 July. Sonia Palomo, Director of Technology Transfer and International Relations at Málaga TechPark, represented the organisation with the clear purpose of strengthening synergies between the innovation ecosystems of both countries and opening up new high-value opportunities for cooperation.

The strategic programme, developed in Casablanca, enabled the delegation to explore Morocco Technopark, one of the country’s leading hubs for innovation and entrepreneurship. During the visit, high-level meetings were held with representatives of the Moroccan business community and took part in a key session at the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Morocco, demonstrating the park’s commitment to acting as a catalyst for international knowledge exchange.

This initiative forms part of the long-standing relationship that Málaga TechPark has built with Morocco’s Technopark network, particularly with its centres in Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca. The consolidation of this partnership not only facilitates the development of joint initiatives, but also reinforces Málaga TechPark’s position as Southern Europe’s leading technology hub, where innovation, investment and global talent come together.

Today, this well-established innovation ecosystem is home to more than 700 companies. Together, they generate annual revenue exceeding €4.8 billion and employ more than 29,000 highly qualified professionals.

With a strong focus on attracting investment and high-impact projects, Málaga TechPark’s participation in this North African mission reaffirms its ambition to remain at the forefront of the global technology landscape. By strengthening ties with both emerging and established innovation ecosystems, the technology park demonstrates that it is far more than a business location: it is a benchmark for technology transfer and a destination of choice for the companies that will shape the future of innovation and the European economy.
