- The event highlighted the role of digitalisation and sustainability as key drivers for developing new skills in the agri-food sector
Málaga TechPark, as a member of the Spanish CoVE within the European project AgriFood4Future, organised together with CESUR, FEMAC (the Catalan Cluster of Agricultural Machinery and Production Means), and Trama TecnoAmbiental (TTA) a webinar focused on promoting innovation, digitalisation, and sustainability in the agri-food sector.
During the session, participants were introduced to the concept of the CoVE (Centre of Vocational Excellence) — a European collaborative ecosystem that brings together companies, educational institutions, and technology centres with the aim of developing new skills and learning opportunities tailored to future challenges. The CoVEs foster excellence in vocational education and training (VET) and strengthen transnational cooperation to advance towards a more digital, green, and competitive economy.
Representing the University of Málaga, Virginia García Millán presented the Andalusian AgriFood Data Space (EDAAn), a pioneering initiative that integrates data, sustainability, and digital transformation in the agri-food domain. This project marks an important step towards promoting the intelligent use of data as a tool for innovation and decision-making across the agri-food value chain.
The Catalan cluster FEMAC shared practical experiences and case studies on precision agriculture training, demonstrating how new technologies are transforming agricultural processes and contributing to a more efficient and environmentally responsible model.
The AgriFood4Future project, part of the European network of Centres of Vocational Excellence, aims to create an international cooperation framework that promotes the development of skills, innovation, and knowledge transfer within the agri-food sector.
Málaga TechPark will continue to actively collaborate in the upcoming activities of the project, fostering joint efforts among Andalusian and European stakeholders to strengthen training, innovation, and sustainability in the agri-food industry.
