Over 200 attendees gathered for the 21st Edition of the Night of Telecommunications, organized by the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers of Eastern Andalusia and Melilla (COIT-AORM) and the Andalusian Association of Telecommunications Engineers (AITA), reaffirming this event as a key annual gathering for the Andalusian digital ecosystem.
The day began with a Technical Conference held at Google’s Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity, featuring leading industry voices such as Mateo Sánchez (Orange), Germán Madueño (Keysight), Concepción Labao (Málaga Provincial Council), Darío Sarmiento (AG Photonics), José González Florido (Innovasur), and Alberto Peinado (University of Málaga). The session offered a space for reflection on cybersecurity, optical communications, digital twins, and post-quantum technologies, while also promoting networking among professionals and organizations.
The gala dinner took place at the exclusive Málaga Cruise Port, where professionals, tech companies, public institutions, and academic representatives came together. COIT-AORM Dean Ainhoa Celaya opened the event and featured a welcome address by the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, who emphasized the importance of the technology sector in the city’s development.

Throughout the evening, the 2025 Night of Telecommunications Awards were presented, recognizing outstanding contributions across various categories:
- Best Final Degree Project: Elio Godoy Lorite, for an innovative design of optical antennas, awarded by the Company On Chair.
- Best Doctoral Thesis: José Carlos Baena González, for his research on next-generation mobile network management.
- Emerging Company Award: AG Photonics, a Málaga-based startup specializing in wireless optical communications.
- Established Company Award: Innovasur, based in Jaén, with over 320 employees working in cybersecurity and smart city solutions.
- Lifetime Achievement Award: María Ángeles Marced, for her strategic role in advancing Málaga’s innovation and technology ecosystem.
The evening concluded with relaxed networking and a live DJ session, creating an atmosphere that blended celebration, recognition, and forward-thinking vision. This year’s edition was made possible thanks to the support of over 25 public and private organizations, including key sponsors such as MAS ORANGE, CBNK, the Andalusian Government, Málaga Provincial Council, Keysight, and Málaga TechPark. Their involvement was instrumental in making this 21st edition an unforgettable event.
