Organised by the Vice-Rectorate for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the UMA and Málaga Tech Park and promoted by Banco Santander and the Santander International Centre for Entrepreneurship (CISE), its aim is to help young entrepreneurs to develop their business projects.
The Explorer programme “Youngsters with Solutions” started yesterday at the Explorer Málaga centre, located in the Link by UMA facilities (Teatinos Campus Extension), with an intense day in which the 21 participating projects presented their proposals to the programme’s mentors. This initiative is organised by Málaga TechPark and the Vice-rectorate for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the UMA, and is promoted by Banco Santander and the Santander International Centre for Entrepreneurship (CISE).
With this event, inaugurated by the Vice-Rector for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Rafael Ventura, the participating projects were presented and mentors were assigned to each of them, thus launching an entrepreneurship programme that will help to validate the ideas presented and turn them into sustainable businesses.
During 12 weeks, from 24 January to 24 April in an online method, projects will be transformed into solutions that contribute to achieving the 2030 SDGs. Explorer is designed with a practical approach, based on social learning dynamics, with the aim of making you an active part of the change through the implementation of economically sustainable projects.
The programme includes individual expert mentoring for each participant. The business projects presented in the 21/22 call are the following: Water Condensation and Desalination Structure using Solar Energy, To Door, MatePay, Fina & Natural, Construye Consciente, Menti, Tu Bookshop, Fitnaga, BubbleMoon, Talent Vitae, Agricultura Digital, Aplicación Bima, Chic Club, Iamboost, Southern Biorefinery, Watch Out, Icarus Nova, Zero Waste, Upgrowz, Mi Curro Y Bymm Studio.
In addition to learning concepts such as business model validation, financial projections, landing page creation and commercial pitching, participants will be able to show their ideas to startup founders and international experts such as Steve Blank, the father of modern entrepreneurship, who has participated in the last two editions of the programme. They will also have Q & A sessions with experts and Explorer alumni, interaction on different social platforms and they will create a community favourable to networking.
The teams that lead the most outstanding projects of this edition will enjoy the Explorer Trip during the summer of 2022 as a prize. A week of immersion with hundreds of entrepreneurs in the innovation hub EIA (European Innovation Academy) in the city of Oporto. In addition, they will receive a certificate of participation for the projects that complete the programme’s activities and access to a global community of young innovators that will grow, edition after edition, with the incorporation of American and European Explorer Spaces.
