The Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Andalusian Regional Government and the Mayor of Málaga inaugurate Oracle’s Oracle Innovation Hub @Málaga

  • Carolina España and Francisco de la Torre accompany Oracle’s Vice President of Applications, Cormac Watters, Oracle Ibérica’s General Manager, Albert Triola and the Director of Málaga TechPark, Felipe Romera Lubias, on a tour of the multinational technology company’s innovation space.
  • The Oracle Innovation Hub @Málaga is located in Oracle’s facilities in the capital, where more than 600 professionals from 23 different nationalities are shaping the future of new management technologies, turning the Andalusian city into a global IT hub.

The Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Andalusian Regional Government, Carolina España, and the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, together with Albert Triola, CEO of Oracle Ibérica, inaugurated the Innovation Hub @Málaga that the American multinational has located in the technology park of the Andalusian city.

It is a unique space located in Oracle’s facilities in Málaga, where more than 600 experts in new technologies from 23 different nationalities help companies and public bodies from all over the world to boost their results with the help of IT, turning Málaga into a global IT hub.

Cormac Watters, Oracle‘s Vice President of Applications, and the Director of Málaga TechPark, Felipe Romera Lubias, also took part in the event.

‘Over the last decade, Málaga has become one of the most dynamic and thriving areas for IT development and, as a world leader in new technologies for business, Oracle could not have chosen a better location for our international innovation hub,’ said Albert Triola. ‘We are very grateful for the support we have received from the Mayor’s Office and the Andalusian Regional Government, and we are convinced that the innovation that originates here will have a positive impact on the business fabric of the region and Andalusian ICT at national and international level.’

Carolina España stated that: ‘The confidence of the companies is demonstrated by their commitment to the territories’ and: ‘The support that Oracle offers Andalusia is a source of satisfaction for Málaga and our community as a whole.’

Carolina España said: ‘We are a land of the present with a clear vocation for the future,’ at the inauguration of Oracle’s innovation hub, in which she participated, in her dual capacity as director and president of Málaga TechPark, together with the mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, and the general director of Oracle Ibérica, Albert Triola.

The Minister pointed out during her speech that: ‘Thanks to the settlement of numerous technology companies, Málaga is naturally becoming a focus of attention for new companies, which find here a future that inspires new generations to train in specific sectors such as technology and find in their environment a solid, quality future with guarantees.’

Carolina España stressed: ‘And it is there, where you will always find the Andalusian Government. On the side of the industry, in the determined and continued commitment to the economic growth of our region, together with companies with projection and technology parks such as Málaga TechPark.’

The mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, stressed: ‘The importance of Oracle for Málaga because it is a very strong component of the city’s technological ecosystem.’ De la Torre said: ‘Oracle’s innovation centre in Málaga aims to find answers to many of humanity’s challenges, starting with those related to sustainability.’ The mayor referred in his speech to Málaga’s candidacy for the 2027 international exhibition, connected to the challenge of sustainability, and the Ricardo Valle Institute Foundation. ‘We want the people who work at Oracle to always be very happy and proud to live and work in Málaga.’
