The director of Bic Euronova, Álvaro Simón de Blas, re-elected president of ANCES

During this new stage, the headquarters of the National Association of Spanish CEEI ANCES will continue in Malaga, specifically at BIC Euronova, Malaga TechPark site, where it has been since 2009; when Álvaro Simón was elected president of ANCES for the first time.

Álvaro Simón de Blas, the General Director of the European Center for Business and Innovation (CEEI) of Malaga BIC Euronova, has been re-elected president of the National Association of Spanish CEEI ANCES, during its general assembly held in Malaga, voted unanimously and assuming the position for a period of two years.

During this new stage, the headquarters of the National Association of Spanish CEEI ANCES will continue in Malaga, specifically at BIC Euronova, Malaga TechPark site, where it has been since 2009; year in which Álvaro Simón was elected president of ANCES for the first time.

“It is an honor to be re-elected as President of ANCES, an enormous motivation that challenges me to continue with enthusiasm and very committed to the National Association of Spanish BICs / CEEIs. A challenge that I face with the desire to continue growing from ANCES with the adhesion of new members and continue promoting the actions of its associates, making visible beyond the national scope the role that BICs / CEEIs play as enhancers of talent and innovative business fabric of Spain”. Álvaro Simón points out; thanking the trust placed by the associate members. Similarly, Simón adds that “continuing to have the ANCES headquarters in Malaga is a great opportunity to continue promoting the innovative business fabric of Malaga at the national level.”

ANCES (National Association of Spanish CEEI)

ANCES, established in 1994 with a national scope of action, is a non-profit association with its own legal personality, which arose with the idea of ​​promoting economic and industrial development through the CEEI (European Business and Innovation Centers), contributing their experience on the creation of new SMEs, based on innovative elements with development potential.

Among the main objectives of ANCES it stands out to promote the development of Spanish CEEI, contributing its experience on the creation of new companies and / or new activities in existing ones; provide its members with the systems, services and activities that serve to achieve their objectives with the maximum of professionalism and efficiency; and promote, through the support and dissemination of the CEEI, innovation and diversification of productive activity, technological progress and economic development.

The association is currently made up of 32 members (CEEIs / BICs) distributed by practically all the autonomous communities.

ANCES collaborates with a large number of organizations, both public and private, thus fulfilling the association’s mission of representing its associates and defending their interests jointly. It maintains contacts or has signed agreements with the following entities: European Association of BICs, EBN (European Business and Innovation Center Network), National Innovation Company, SA (ENISA), Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE), Ministry of Economy and Companies, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, DG SME, Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), Official Credit Institute (ICO), Spanish Federation of Innovation and Technology Entities (FEDIT), Ministry of Education and Science; in addition to several Universities, Research Results Transfer Offices (OTRIs), etc.

CEEIs / BICs

The CEEI (European Business and Innovation Centers) or BIC (Business and Innovation Center), are organizations whose main mission is to provide support to all those business initiatives that involve innovation or business diversification, offering a complete and integrated system of activities and services to SMEs, among which professional guidance, business training, information search, support in detecting potential markets and infrastructure services for new projects are distinguished.

Álvaro Simón de Blas

Doctor in Economics from the University of Malaga, Bachelor of Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Deusto, Diploma in Senior Business Management from the San Telmo International Institute and account auditor, Álvaro Simón is the director general of the CEEI of Malaga BIC Euronova, European Center for Business and Innovation of Malaga since 1993 . In addition, he is President of ANCES (National Association of Spanish CEEI) since April 2009 and President of EBN (European Network of European Business and Innovation Centers – European Business and Innovation Center Network) from September 2012 to June 2016 . Previously, he has worked in the Spanish Commercial Office in Japan, Lloyds Bank, Caja Postal group and he has practiced the profession of auditor with his own company. Álvaro Simón is also an associate professor at the University of Malaga, in its Department of Economics and Business Administration of the Faculty of Economic Sciences.
