Dedalus acquires DXC Technology’s healthcare software business and strengthens its global leadership in ICT Healthcare

With this acquisition, the company, which has one of the largest R&D teams in digital health in Europe, strengthens its presence in Málaga TechPark.

Dedalus Group, a leading international healthcare software provider, announced on April 1st the successful completion of the acquisition of DXC Technology’s healthcare software business. Following this transaction, Dedalus becomes one of the largest Health IT companies in the world, with a broad portfolio of digital health solutions in the areas of clinical and hospital, primary and social care, connected health and care coordination, diagnostics and life sciences, among others.

This acquisition enables Dedalus to accelerate the digital transformation of the healthcare ecosystem with expanded R&D capabilities. The company currently works with more than 6,100 hospitals and 5,300 laboratories worldwide, and has more than 5,500 professionals and a digital health R&D team of more than 2,000 people, 35% of its workforce.

With this acquisition of DXC Technology’s ICT Health business, Dedalus consolidates its leadership in the healthcare technology industry, with leading market positions in clinical and hospital management and diagnostic solutions in Germany, Italy, France, UK, Denmark, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Spain, as well as a strong presence in Northern Europe, Austria, Switzerland, Brazil and several countries in Latin America, Middle East and Africa, with a global presence in more than 40 countries. With this acquisition, Dedalus is able to expand its existing business in the main European markets, as well as expand into new markets worldwide and establish a highly qualified management team, led by Dedalus CEO Andrea Fiumicelli and Giorgio Moretti, President of the company.

Our teams work specifically on the definition and development of data management and Artificial Intelligence platforms, digital applications for collaboration and interrelation between healthcare professionals and patients, intelligent interfaces, NLP and advanced user experience solutions”.

He has also highlighted that Dedalus “bets on local talent for its global growth, so the growth expectations for the team in Spain are great. Currently, we have more than 30 open positions for the engineering and delivery areas. Specifically in Andalusia, we are looking for professionals specialized in integrations, web development, scrum master, technical architects and mobile application development, among others.”

Dedalus Iberia CEO Marisa Felipe stated that “currently, our digital health solutions are used in the Spanish National Health System, where 80% of the regional health authorities work with one of our solutions, exceeding 30 million covered population. Our systems manage more than 17 million electronic medical records in Spain, and we are leaders in the area of pathological anatomy, where 60% of public hospitals use our software solutions.”
