Málaga TechPark Luis Fernando Martínez
  • Founder of Cetecom and key driver behind the Park’s creation, his legacy lives on in today’s innovative and global Málaga

Málaga TechPark deeply mourns the passing of Luis Fernando Martínez, a key figure in the Park’s history and a vital reference point in the technological development of Málaga.

An engineer by training, Luis Fernando was part of the historic Fujitsu R&D laboratory in Málaga during the 1980s, where he stood out for his leadership and technical vision. In 1992, driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, he founded Cetecom, one of the first companies to establish itself in the newly created Andalusia Technology Park.

Under his leadership, the company became a global benchmark in telecommunications, later evolving into AT4 Wireless and eventually becoming part of the multinational DEKRA.

Luis Fernando not only promoted the international growth of the company but also championed local young talent, mentoring generations of engineers who now hold leadership roles in companies across the globe.

This year, he was honored with the Medal of Distinction from the School of Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Málaga (UMA), as well as the Ciudad de Málaga Award, which he will receive posthumously. Beyond his professional accomplishments, those who knew him remember his warmth, his love for art and painting, and his commitment to Málaga’s development as an innovation-driven city.

We at the Park extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire professional community that accompanied him on this journey. Thank you for everything, Luis Fernando. Your legacy is forever part of our story.
