  • The former President of TSMC Europe and current board member of major global tech companies headlines the “Voces que Inspiran” event organized by the Women Leadership group of Málaga TechPark Execs

The Fundación Unicaja Cultural Center in Málaga, home to the Fundación Unicaja -Málaga TechPark Entrepreneurship Center, which offers free space to startups, hosted today’s midday event, “Voces que Inspiran: Encuentro con María Marced”. The event, organized by the Women Leadership groups of the Málaga TechPark Execs Directors’ Club, brought together a significant representation of Andalusia’s business and tech ecosystem around María Marced, the influential executive.

The event featured María Marced herself, along with other key figures:

  • Carolina España (Andalusia’s Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds and President of Málaga TechPark)
  • Felipe Romera (Director of the Málaga TechPark)
  • Antonio Gómez-Guillamón (CEO of Aertec and Coordinator of the Execs group)
  • Sofía Schneider (Vice President at Oracle and Coordinator of the Women Leadership group)

The event opened with a welcome by Miguel Gil, Director of Stakeholder Relations at Fundación Unicaja.

Marced, a consultant of leading tech companies including Ceva, IQE, and Sequans Communications, shared valuable insights, personal anecdotes, and reflections on her extensive international career. With leadership roles at companies such as Intel, Telefónica, AT&T, and SMC Europe, Marced is considered one of the most influential women in global tech, widely recognized for her visionary leadership and commitment to innovation.

“Leadership is not just about making decisions. It’s about having the courage to envision a different future and building it with others,” said Marced during her keynote, emphasizing the importance of elevating female role models in traditionally male-dominated sectors.

Carolina España also highlighted the value of such initiatives. “I’m convinced this event will be an inflection point for many and a starting point for many more. Hosting it here in Málaga is no coincidence. Today, Málaga TechPark represents one of the greatest success stories of contemporary Málaga. It’s a place of innovation, investment, and transformation,” she stated.

“We want Andalusia to be the land where ideas turn into opportunity. Where talent finds its place. Where professional ambition doesn’t have to choose between merit and work-life balance. A place where women can build careers without compromise, barriers, or ceilings. That is the Andalusia we’re building, home to the largest number of women in R&D in our history, with women now making up 40% of our research workforce,” she added.

An initiative by Women Leadership

Voces que Inspiran is part of a series of initiatives led by the Women Leadership group within the Málaga TechPark Execs Club. Its mission is to promote female leadership, foster support networks, and spotlight transformative career paths within and beyond the technology sector.
