During the Transfiere event, the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, held from 24 to 26 February 2026 in Málaga, Málaga TechPark hosted a Peninsular Open Innovation Network Meeting. The meeting has become a key forum for strengthening collaboration between universities and science and technology parks from Spain and Portugal.

The Peninsular Open Innovation Network is a strategic alliance that connects academic institutions and technology parks to foster joint innovation. Its aim is to serve as a stable platform for coordination, promoting the exchange of expertise, capabilities and best practices in technological innovation.

Currently, the Network is made up of around 20 members from universities and science and technology parks. During the meeting, the incorporation of two new members was proposed: Óbidos Technology Park and the Associação Empresarial da Região Oeste, expanding the collaboration network and strengthening connectivity between the participating institutions.

In addition, the members of the Network analysed and discussed the action plan for 2026, as well as strategies to enhance collaboration between participating organisations, fostering joint projects and the exchange of technological knowledge.

As part of the strategic decisions taken during the meeting, the date for the next annual meeting was set and the next actions for the coming year were defined. This further consolidates the Network as a benchmark for technological and scientific cooperation in the Iberian Peninsula.

The Meeting confirms the commitment of Málaga TechPark and its partners to innovation, knowledge transfer and the strengthening of the science and technology ecosystem in Spain and Portugal.
