Malaga TechPark subscribes to the manifesto for an effective positioning of women in STEM

The content of the manifesto emerged during the online event coordinated by the Spanish technological platform for disruptive technologies (DISRUPTIVE) chaired by Málaga TechPark.

The group of female directors ‘Women in Málaga TechPark’, together with 12 other initiatives that promote female STEM talent, has signed a manifesto submitted today, March 8, International Women’s Day.

The content of the manifesto emerged during the online event organized by the Spanish Technology Platform for Disruptive Technologies (DISRUPTIVE), chaired by Málaga TechPark, held on February 11, International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The 13 participating networks shared impressions and made proposals to join forces and work together in this first meeting. After the meeting, they have remained in contact to outline a document in which they commit to work on the development of 10 proposals to reduce the gender gap in the STEM field.
During this first meeting, numerous proposals for actions to be developed were proposed, among them, those related to creating a meeting point where resources and tools can be shared, collaborating with public R&D&I policies through greater involvement in the structures and bodies set up by the government, promoting greater involvement of companies as well as greater collaboration with educational entities and the media, and promoting measures to support the role of women entrepreneurs and investors in STEM, among others.

The session was attended by the initiatives that today subscribe to the manifesto: Ciencia y Tecnología en femenino, y Plataforma Tecnológica Española de Tecnologías Disruptivas – DISRUPTIVE (APTE), Women in Malaga TechPark, Fem Talent, AMIT, W4STEAM, Inspiring Girls, Talent Woman, Iniciativa 11F, STEM Talent Girl (ASTI Foundation), STEM FOR GIRLS UC3M, Women Space Extremadura, Andalucía STEM and Red de Parques Tecnológicos de Euskadi.
