Premo and Fycma promote interpersonal distancing devices pilot test

The Malaga-based technology company TechPark will present for the first time at the Malaga exhibition center the EPI-DWS pilot project COVID-19, a preventive measure consisting of the use of electronic passive safety devices that warn of interpersonal distancing.

The Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA) and the multinational of electronic components Premo located in Malaga TechPark have teamed up to promote the celebration of events and trade fairs as safe spaces for work and business. The technology company will present for the first time at the Malaga venue the EPI-DWS pilot project as a preventive measure of Covid-19, which consists of the use of electronic passive safety devices that alert of interpersonal distancing for face-to-face events.

The EPI-DWS project (Personal Protective Equipment – Distance Warning System), aims to serve as a technological security measure anti-coronavirus marking the interpersonal distance established for individual protection. According to Navarro, “the extremely high reliability and accuracy of the EPI-DWS prevents risky contact by alerting individuals before they get too close. This gentle reminder helps personnel maintain a social distance.

For his part, Sanchez pointed out that the event where the pilot project will be launched will be Transfiere 2021, which is being held on April 14 and 15 and which again this year has the support and involvement of Malaga TechPark. “This warning system adds to the other measures already implemented in Fycma facilities to provide them with greater security thanks to the technological development of Premo,” he said.

This warning system has been tested in the facilities of the German multinational Dekra in Malaga TechPark, under the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (for CE marking), and is the advanced result of a research and development project financed by CDTI (Center for Industrial Technological Development) with FEDER funds.
