DIBEST DES 2026: Digitalization of Blue Tourism
  • Málaga TechPark took part in Digital Enterprise Show 2026 with a dedicated stand for the DIBEST project and a presentation within the event programme, held at FYCMA

The European project DIBEST – Digital Innovation for Blue Enterprises & Social Tourism was present at Digital Enterprise Show 2026 (DES 2026), held in Málaga, with the aim of showcasing its main achievements in the field of digitalisation applied to blue and social tourism.

The project’s participation included a dedicated stand at DES 2026, which served as a meeting point for partners, companies and stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem, as well as a specific presentation on the European DIBEST project within the España Empresa Digital programme area. The agenda also included meetings at the stand and an evaluation session with project partners and beneficiary companies.

DIBEST is a project co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Atlantic Area programme, in which Málaga TechPark participates alongside entities from Spain, Portugal, France and Ireland. Its purpose is to support tourism micro-enterprises linked to coastal, social and blue economy tourism in their digital transition, through a combination of diagnosis, training, mentoring, practical tools and transnational cooperation activities.

The project responds to a shared challenge across many Atlantic territories: tourism micro-enterprises play an essential role in local economies, but they often lack the resources, capabilities or tools needed to compete in an increasingly digital market. To address this gap, DIBEST has developed a support pathway tailored to the real needs of companies, aimed at improving their online presence, management processes, sales channels, customer relations and capacity to innovate in a sustainable way.

Throughout its implementation, DIBEST has supported 67 micro-enterprises from six Atlantic regions, with the participation of organisations from four countries. Among its main results are the organisation of 13 online training sessions in each country, more than 70 hours of training, between 6 and 10 hours of mentoring per company, more than 500 hours of expert support in total, national and international networking meetings, and the development of a Digital Toolkit. This toolkit has been conceived as a practical, accessible and transferable resource to help companies continue progressing in their digitalisation journey.

The project’s presence at DES 2026 made it possible to share these results with an audience specialised in innovation, technology and digital transformation, while also strengthening the visibility of the project and its contribution to supporting tourism micro-enterprises across the Atlantic area.

For Málaga TechPark, participation in this international forum highlights the park’s commitment to innovation, European cooperation and the transfer of knowledge to the business community.
