The Hedy Lamarr Chair in Women and Technology and DEKRA Testing and Certification (DEKRA) announce the first edition of the DEKRA W-STEM 2030 award. DEKRA collaborates with this University of Málaga’s Chair, together with other entities including the School of Telecommunications Engineering, the School of Industrial Engineering, the School of Computer Science and Engineering and Málaga TechPark.
The award has two categories: junior and senior. The junior category is addressed to women who are currently studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics degrees (STEM). The senior category is addressed to graduate women who have extensive work experience in STEM fields. The aim is to make these degrees more visible to women, to increase their interest in them, to contribute to their training and participation in them and to encourage women to work in these fields.
DEKRA, as part of its social responsibility, rewards excellence and talent of “past, present and future” women in the STEM field, in which they are still a minority nowadays. Thus, it recognises the excellence in the career path of a senior woman and the talent of a female student, bringing them together so that they can share their inquisitiveness, experiences and knowledge.
Applications for the senior category must be submitted before 12 May 2023 at 23:59h.
Applications for the junior category must be submitted before 19 May 2023 at 23:59h.
The awards will be presented in an event that will take place on 2 June 2023.
